Metal vocals & guitar. Winner of Wacken Metal Battle 2024. Netflix movie soundtrack - #1 most viewed worldwide. Previous work includes projects with legends like Sebastian Lanser (ex-Obscura, Obsidious) and Steve Di Giorgio (Death, Testament).
I specialize in bringing projects to life while staying true to your unique vision. Whether you need a skilled songwriter, vocalist or guitarist, I'm here to listen to your needs and collaborate closely with you every step of the way.
With over a decade of experience touring Europe and working with artists worldwide, I've contributed to projects like the theme song for Netflix's "The Monkey King" and the single "Inhale the Ash" by Thus featuring Sebastian Lanser (Obsidious, ex-Obscura). Additionally, I've lent my talents to albums like "Age of The Solipsist" by Mother of All, alongside bassist Steve Di Giorgio (Testament, Death, ex-Obscura).
In August 2024 I won the Wacken Metal Battle with my band THUS.
Drawing inspiration from guitarists like Ola Englund (Feared, The Haunted), Wes Hauch (Alluvial), and Brandon Ellis (The Black Dahlia Murder), my playing style delivers a powerful punch.
On the vocal front, my growls and screams are influenced by legends such as Randy Blythe (Lamb of God), David Davidson (Revocation), and Joe Duplantier (Gojira).
For added visual impact, I can provide 10-bit 4k video performances.
Don't hesitate to reach out with your project details, and I'll provide you with a personalized, no-obligation offer.
Best regards,
Frederik

I had a pretty short and sweet gig for Frederik, only three words in fact, but those three words had to exactly match my vision for the contextual usage in my project, and Frederik managed to deliver perfectly what I was looking for with no hassle whatsoever and it sounds amazing! Really great vocalist, powerful, powerful voice, and he follows instructions on your gig to a T, which is wonderful!

I've worked with Frederik on a few songs now and his vocals have been killer every time. You know he really cares with the emotion he puts into it. Most feedback I get from my piers is that the song is "powerful" which says a lot.

Interview with Frederik Jensen
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I'm the "in-the-box" digital kind of guy. Nowadays the virtual possibilities are endless, and in most cases the analog is not worth the extra hassle or price.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That we will work close together through the whole process.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: That I can make other people express themselves and make some kickass music!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That people are in it for the money. The most of us really do it, because we LOVE music, and want other people to have the same experience with their project.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I ask about their inspirations and what the end goal for their project should be.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Do your homework. Try to make it clear what your are looking for and give as much information as possible.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started out producing the bands I've been involved in. Later I studied sound production in London.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: The artist that carries about their music, and tries to communicate clearly about their vision.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My knowledge of how much work and soul people put into their projects, and that it shall be treated with respect.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring experience, passion and talent.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: The first thing I try to do, is to really do my homework right. Get into the mind of my client and make them give me as much information about their expectations and influences. Then I'll work out a sketch, and I'll send it to my client to be sure, that we are on the right path. We'll then work towards the end product together.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: For vocals I usually go for the trusty Shure SM7B. For guitar I have my old Gibson Explorer and for the more shreddy parts, my Jackson Soloist.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I've done a lot of vocal performances on tracks from deep growl to more high pitched screams.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't say "I'll fix it it post" when recording. Try to be critical of your own playing, and maybe have another person take a listen, to gain a second perspective.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Some of my great inspirations are Ola Englund, Keith Merrow and Wes Hauch. The things they have in common are, that each have en individual sound and they strife to make their playing fit the song. You'll have to think of the bigger picture, and maybe put your instrumental ego aside, to get the best end result.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I would describe my style as very dynamic. If you want different parts in a song to work, you gotta have contrast. Breakdowns, fast sections, complex and simple parts have to respond to each other to make the best impact.

- Guitar on the new Mother of All album "Age of the Solipsist"Jun 24, 2021
I had the pleasure of playing guitar on the new album by Mother of All "Age of The Solipsist". Mother is a solo project by Martin Haumann (Myrkur, Afsky, Essence). I had the great honor of working together with Steve Digiorgio (Death, Testament) who delivered awesome basslines for the album. Go check it out on all streaming platforms.
- Jagten - "Fantom Kald" is out now!Sep 30, 2019
I worked together with Ryan Henry (Necare, Reclusiam) to make the EP "Fantom Kald" which is a Danish-US project described as Southern Scandinavian Sludge with hints of progressive, doom, traditional and extreme metal.
The mixing & mastering and guitar work is done by me.

- Shure SM7B microphone added to the arsenalAug 19, 2019
I just got my hands on the legendary Shure SM7B microphone. It works really well with my kind of harsh vocal. Click here to watch me testing it with a bit of "Walk With Me In Hell" by Lamb of God.
