I've been working full-time as a female vocalist, demo singer, bgv singer, producer, songwriter for 25 years. I live near Nashville's Music Row and own a fully functioning overdub and vocal studio and work with many publishers in town: Daywind Music Publishing , Two Wheel Artists, Bandwagon Red Music, Great House Music Publishing, and more.

Donna is awesome. Responds super quickly, very flexible, wants to do whatever is needed to make the project work. Will definitely hire her again.
Donna was truly AMAZING to work with. What can I say... she NAILED IT on the first try. A beautiful voice and quick turnaround. It couldn’t have went any better. Thank again Donna!
I am absolutely stunned. I was smiling and jumping up and down through the first listen of Donna's vocal tracks. I listened at least 10 more times before I could stop hitting the play button. She absolutely nailed this song on the first take and added great vocal nuances that took it to another level. Highly recommended.
I can't recommend Donna highly enough. Her vocals are so warm and effective and accessible for all genres of songs. She's sung on quite a few of my demos, and artists seem to love to hear her voice. A few times, I have had certain things I needed tweaked, and she is always happy to change things until they are exactly right. She a great person to work with!
Donna, is the difference between good and great. This is because "you get it" when creating vocals. I suspect that this, in part, comes from Donna's ability to write wonderful award winning songs. Additionally, I believe that having a handle on what goes into mixing a song makes the whole process much smoother and successful. Just give her the song and let her do her magic.
Donna is a great vocalist. Very professional. A pleasure to work with. Quick turnaround. Quality vocals that sound amazing. I will definitely use her for future projects. I highly recommend her.
I've had the absolute pleasure of mixing tracks for Donna King throughout the last 6 years. In that time I've mixed dozens of songs she has performed on and produced. These are among my favorite projects.
From demos to radio singles, Donna's vocal always sits incredibly well in the track, which makes my job as a mixing engineer much easier. Donna pours her heart into the projects she works on.
Donna is a wonderful singer ..total pro and easy to work with!
Donna King is my first choice when it comes to a female demo singer. Her heart, spirit and voice bring forth nothing less than a beautiful melody every time she sings. You will never go wrong hiring Donna King.
Great producer, singer, and songwriter!
As a music publisher pitching to major labels and artists we only use A-list vocals and demo's. Donna is always our first call.

Interview with Donna King
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I am particularly proud of a song I wrote with my friend (guitarist from Allen Stone's band), Trevor Larkin) and sang the demo. The song says something we believe in... and how it turned out makes me smile every time. It was a collaborative effort but I was HONORED to get to sing the demo on the tune. The title is LOVE SPEAKS. It is in my vocal demo samples on my Soundcloud.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I have three demo vocal jobs in front of me. I am also working on full production on a Christian music project. I love it!
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: My friend and cowriter Kris Bradley is a wonderful vocalist and I would highly recommend her. :)
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog plug ins on digital equipment because... the digital process allows us an endless array of options and processes to get the sound our clients want. And, the portability is AMAZING... We can transfer these files all over the world within seconds and back them up easily, etc... BUT there is NOTHING like many of the older ANALOG warmth sounds so utilizing plug in options is an amazing way to simulate those tones.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To give them my best effort... to treat their song as if it is my own while absolutely respecting their dream for their song and striving to meet and exceed their expectations.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Making a dream come to life... Pouring my heart into MUSIC. I love it...It is my heartbeat.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: The most common question is if I feel I can give them the vibe they are hoping for in their song and to that i feel I can confidently answer yes. I am a MOTOWN girl, with a history in singing POP, Country, Gospel, Jazz, and so on... It's my HEART to be a chameleon and make the song what it needs to be. They also often ask about turn around time and I am always very careful to be accurate in conveying when the job will be complete.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I think the biggest misconception would be that I can change a song that doesn't start out as a strong song into a strong song just by singing it. But, no matter what, I will give it the BEST effort from moment one until completion.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What artist/artists do you want this song to be geared toward? What is the vibe you hope to achieve? When would you like your finished job back?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Bring me your dream and let me help you make it a reality... I want to treat your song as if it were my own while respecting that it is YOURS and it needs to be the best it can be for YOU!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A generator, A laptop with logic, an acoustic guitar, a mic, and headphones
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been working full-time in music for 25 years. I started as a classically trained vocalist while, also, writing music... I kept expanding what I do over the years until I began producing other artists, writing with other songwriters, and singing on lots of demos and various projects over the years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I believe my style is Country singer with a splash of Jazz and a hint of Pop
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Maren Morris... because I love her diverse way of communicating detail with her voice and songwriting and I think she has a HUGE future ahead!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I'm careful not to let the beauty of the song be covered up by over-production, but to use elements that bring the lyric and the vibe intended for the song to life. In demo work I am careful to showcase the SONG more than the one singing it.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on a variety, but mainly Country demos and in Christian music as a producer.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Female vocalist and BGVs.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I believe I will bring musical intuition, along with creative love, careful attention to detail, and years of experience in making music as a vocalist and a producer.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It depends on the task, but typically someone sends me a rough of the song they want me to make a demo or sing on and I begin the relationship by communicating with them so I have a full understanding of their dream for their music and their expectations. I am careful to adhere to their desires because this is their song but I am also communicative in the creative process so that we end up with a mix they are beyond excited about. My turn around time is generally 2 week for less.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: We are full equipped as a demo, overdub, and vocal studio....with Pro Tools 12, Apple iMac 27, Universal LA-610 Preamp, Full ISO booth, Neaumann TLM 103, SHURE SM5, Yamaha Studio grade speakers, AKG instrument condenser mics, Focusrite Sapphire 56 interface, Melodyne, AKG 240 headphones
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Endless list but... Clive Davis, Dan Huff, Shania Twain, Diana Krall, Lady Antebellum, Maren Morris, Ed Sheeran, Travis Meadows, Celine Dion, and I could keep going.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I sing demos, background vocals, and do full demos for clients. I am also a music producer and work with artists on making their album shine.
