Fabián creates a stress-free environment to communicate. I like the way he talks it is a friendly manner of talking which I assume is from his cultural background which I admire. When you ask for amendments he doesn't question them but gets on with it in a quick manner with the updates. The mixes sound like how I had them envisioned. I do think the project file I gave could have been better organized but Fabián was able to work easily with it. I am very happy I found Fabián.

Well what can you not say about this guy. I didn't have a clue about sending files, what should be in them and what shouldn't be in them etc.
He went along with all my desires and wishes and achieved what I envisaged
Very patient and the song sounds great, the mastering at the very end of the process put a real shine on everything.

Hands down the best mixer I've ever had the pleasure of working with (and I've worked with a few). He is able to understand EXACTLY what you want from your notes and references. He's very patient and understanding with his customer service because he understands how personal the music is for the artist. I can't wait to mix more tracks with him!

Interview with Fabián Ramos

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don't judge by the price of the service, not everyone who charges more gets a great sound.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My computer (with plugins and charger) and my headphones, I have mixed and mastered many tracks with just this setup.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been in this for over five years, not only do I mix and master but also teach others how to do it.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Innovative, I don't usually use a template, each mix and mastering is done from its creative state.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: With the one who makes music out of passion, I'm more interested in music than sales.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: The music is worked from the main emotion that you want to transmit, if it fails to transmit, you have failed in the attempt.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: In all kinds of genres but especially Gospel, I live in Latin America so it is also common to receive a lot of music from the urban genre.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Understanding the client from an artistic point of view, very few know how much effort there is behind a song.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: All the creativity that implies that the song transmits what the artist wants.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: After making the agreement, I request the multitrack which will be sent via wetransfer to my corporate email, each track of the multitrack must be in the best possible format, preferably WAV either 44.1Khz 24 Bit or 48Khz 24 Bit, everything will depend on how it was recorded the session, I also receive 32 Bit. After this I ask for a document with notes where I know the north of the song, if it is possible to attach references, then I mix or master the song and deliver the final product in the prescribed conditions. PS: I have no restriction on revisions, so the product the customer receives is the one they want.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio consists of two monitoring systems, which are powered from my Antelope Discrete Synergy 4 interface, however my third monitoring system is my Beyerdynamic DT990 PRO headphones. All my mixes and masterings are in the box in Logic Pro X, even what you have heard from me has been in the box, I have plugins from big companies like Sonnox, Melda Production, Soundtoys, Plugin Alliance, Waves, among many other companies.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Mixing Engineers: Serban Ghenea, Josh Gudwin, Manny Marroquín, Jaycen Joshua.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I focus on obtaining the best possible result from the mixing and mastering processes
