Usually, audio mastering is about to make it loud. I go beyond by doing very complex processing of your material, which takes about 2 hours. The result will have more clarity, warmth, and energy. Moreover, I try to bring excitement to the music. You can also get a video of the mastering session, showing you all the processing I had done.
Electronic and Ambient stuff is one of the most fun, but I am working with all kinds of genres, except metal music. Ágain and again, I discover new great music when working with new clients.

Already in my youth, I was close to the music and produced in "Cubase SE". Back in those days, I was playing the piano passionately. As a young adult, I finally joined a theater group doing improvisation theater and played piano according to their improvisations. Being close to the music still helps me a lot in my work as a mastering engineer. I no longer produce music, because I chose to use my time and energy to contribute to awsome art by doing the best mastering of a song I can, every time.

Florian was successful in achieving the kind of sound I wanted from my master and did so by maintaining crystal clear communication the whole time. He is flexible, efficient, polite and technically sound. I think working with him was one of my best soundbetter experiences. Looking forward to more work with him!
Working with Florian was a blessing. We worked together on a big project (Mixtape) with multiple tasks like mixing, mastering, refurbishing wavs etc. and the outcome was fantastic! Florian is very responsible and dedicated, he works fast while delivering highest quality. He gave great input while respecting my own visions, which I loved. Communication was perfect - quick, clear and efficient!
When I needed an audio engineer for a songcontest I successfully participated in, musician friends of mine highly recommended Florian - which I'm grateful for.
He elevated the song to another level with the accuracy and effort he puts into his mixing and mastering. Also his pace and his open mind to discuss ideas and giving guidance to the sound I was looking for are things I appreciate.
I needed a Mixing and Mastering Engineer for a Drum and Bass Track I did some time ago, therefore I hired Florian, although he told me Drum and Bass is not his genre he feels at home with. The correspondence was great, Florian responded to my ideas perfectly and the results were great. The track contains every aspect I imagined and Florian delivered earlier as agreed.
Florian mastered my Song "Im Kopf Gefangen" and did a very well Job. He worked really quick and the Quality sounded professional. He was very interested in creating a Sound we both be satisfied with. Great work !
Florian did the Mastering for several projects of mine (e.g. Rap Jack - "So Viel"). If you are a rather small artist with a little budget, i strongly recommend to you to check out this engineer. Very good price-performance-ratio;Very reliable contact - emails are usually answered within a day; customer-oriented work - does what you say and does not make your songs sound like he personally likes it
Interview with Mastering - Florian Boden
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I like having everything I need always visible. With patience and skills, it is incredible what sound can be created in the box. Although I use analog hardware, the development in the plugin industry, by creating such great plugins, leads to the challenge to create a setup, which allows a fast and efficient workflow. Therefore I have several Monitors. My trackball is essential for my workflow.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: The background that I was once a musician. That helps me with a lot of decisions I make during work because it gives me the possibility to jump into a perspective based on intuition and instinct.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: You send me a Mix of your song and we will decide if a stereo master or a stem mastering is needed. After you get the first version of the master, we can go ahead and make some changes you might want. If you are happy with the result, I will prepare some final files, including some extra files for the upload on spotify or creating a youtube video.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Most of my experience I got within the last 4 years due to the amount of Music Productions I was involved in. Mostly I did Mixing & Mastering.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: To send me a Rough Mix of their song, so I can hear the quality of the recordings and the music itself.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: To contribute to something that remains.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Get yourself under pressure if you need to be creative.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Stem-Mastering. A Mix can be split into several tracks containing the single groups of instruments, like Drums, Bass, Instruments, and Vocals. A Stem Mastering gives the possibility for deeper changes to the Mix but I prefer to do a Mastering, only with one file of the stereo sum. Nevertheless Stems giving me a great possibility for changes due to your revision requests.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To be aware of the time they spend on a project and therefore doing my work like it is appropriate.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Nitin Sawhney, Charlie Winston, Tony Maserati
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I can not answer this question in general. I can only bring something to a song, which is already in there. Surely there are many creative things, which can be done by mixing. For example a simple Delay. But the possibilities for such things are dependent on the potential of a song and its musical quality.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I am not having the time to answer this question adequately. Please be lenient with me. ;)
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Electronic, Ambient, Future Garage, Hip Hop, World
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Hans Zimmer. Because I love the way his soundtracks for interstellar and last samurai sound.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Modern & Exciting
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Trackball, Steinberg AI Controller, Sceptre S6 Monitors, Sub, Audio Interface
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Don`t set release dates before you have a product you like. So take your time for the final step of your production. If you are not sure, if you mix is ready for mastering, just send me a message and I will give you a short feedback on your mix.
