Mixing

I would absolutely recommend Mike to anyone who wants to take their music to the next level. He produced, mixed, engineered, and mastered both of my solo CDs which have gotten several credible placements and good youtube responses. He not only does great work but he is also a pleasure to work with which is a rare combination! Highly recommend him

Mike is an awesome engineer and great producer to work with. We worked on a bunch of songs together and it was always an adventure. Definitely recommend him. Highly creative and not afraid to share his thoughts and opinions. He's always looking to create a better sound too and improve the quality of a recording.

Yeah Mike has evolved engineering skills, is a brilliant musician himself, great ear, multi-instrumentalist, blah blah blah - So what? Here's what makes him an exceptional producer - and rare. He pays attention to the artist - not to what you think you're trying to do but to what your expression truly is - and he shines a light on it... Amazing.

Well, first of all, I think Mike Castonguay is one of the best engineers I've ever worked with. I first became aware of him through my friend, Mark Goldenberg. I've worked with him for two of my albums this year and he's just an excellent sounding board as well as being a talented engineer and great mastering guy. Very accommodating to my vision.

I have had the pleasure of working with Mike on several recordings.
I can say all those things about being professional, being a good arranger, multi instrumentalist, and good communicator etc.. as it's all true, however he is just plain FUN!!! That's just as important as he puts everyone at ease. Which only makes you play better.

Mike has gone above and beyond to make my songs the best they can be. Super fast turn around on my mixes and a total professional. Responds quickly to emails and just a real pleasure to work with. Mike has an incredible ear! He has mixed several of my songs now and he is great at picking up on the direction and running with it in the mixing stages of a song. He is also very good with communication and timing. Im working on a second EP with Mike now and its been an awesome experience since the first.

Mike has great chops on Protools, killer arrangement skills and as a musician. His ability to tune in to me as an artist and make suggestions completely in line with my goals stems from his own experience as an artist and his musically intelligence which seeks out what the song wants to be. And he knows how to get there. I did 2 albums with Mike.
