Having worked with Federico many times through the past two decades, I can recommend him to anyone that is in search of a great engineer, a talented musician and an incredibly kind human being.
Federico is one of the most refined professional mixing engineer I have ever worked with. He is also a producer and musician. Having the ability to wear so many hats makes him so unique as an artist.
He is not only an amazing mixing engineer, he is also a really down to earth guy that never stress out.
When you check his credit list, you would be able to tell how diverse he is. I would recommend Federico hands down for mixing any kind of genre.
I've been working with this friend of mine and colleague for more than 29 years, he is a great mixing engineer, great producer, great piano player, this guy is what you call an overall professional. It's a real privilege to be his friend and to be working with him. Quality as a person 10, Level of knowledge 10, he is a real excellent choice for your musical project, you wont miss with him. Thanks for all Tio, best.
I have been working with "El Tio" Ariztegui for more than 25 years in countless albums and projects, both in study and live situations.
Simply one of the best decisions that you can make in a musical project, is to hire El Tio.
His musicality, theoretical and practical skills, as well as his great human quality, are a guarantee of excellence for any project in which he joins.
I've been working together with Federico for about twenty years in studio, as well as in live shows and tours, and the word that could define his professional profile is "reliability".
He is a sound engineer in constant evolution and who transmits a lot of serenity to the artists, even when an unexpected problem arises.
And he has a plus that is very necessary for me when we live together for hundreds of hours in hotels or studios: a great sense of humor.
Federico “Tio” Ariztegui is one of the best professionals I’ve had the pleassure to work with.
He has work with me for several music projects for TV shows and artist such as “Atraccion x 4”, “Consentidos”, “Javier Eloy”, “Sebastián Athié”, and much more.
His work Recording, editing, and mixing has a level of perfection that can compete the best producers there are on the industry. This is a result of many hours of hard creative work , but as well as the fact that he is not just a great Engeneer, but also he is a great musician, and that gives him a bigger perspective of the hole picture.
Interview with Federico "Tio" Ariztegui
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I must say that I no longer work in large consoles as I used to do. The problems associated with the loss of time in recalls, the impossibility of reproducing exactly the mixes added to the quality that today have the plug-ins processors and the smoothness of the workflow have overturned me for a while to make exclusively mixes in the box . For this I have a personal studio where I have the necessary tools and I feel comfortable and comfortable to focus on what really matters about a production. Music.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I usually mix. It's what I love doing. I really enjoy it because every time it is new and challenging and I feel that it is where I can offer my best. I also do track editions (quantization, tuning, etc.) with great skill since I have been using ProTools for more than 20 years.Besides these years of experience and the fact of being a musician have also given me a differential of quality in the production and the focus of the artistic approach.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: It is hard to say given that there is so much talent and good work out there. But I've always been inspired by great producers, mixers and artists from Bruce Swedien, Alan Parsons, Steve Lillywhite, Hugh Padgham to Nigel Godrich or Mark Ronson.
