I offer a quality online mixing and mastering service at an affordable price, perfect for singer songwriters, bands and artists of all genres. My aim is to give you the best possible chance at getting gigs, impressing labels and making hits. With my help you can take your sound to the next level and stand out from being just another local artist.
I am a music producer and sound engineer from Buckinghamshire, UK. I have a great deal of experience when it comes to music production picked up from working with online clients and through engineering at a studio local to me, which when combined with the skills and expertise that I developed during my degree in Popular Music Production BA (Hons) (Graduated with First Class Honours), will result in great sounding tracks. I use top quality equipment and software to make sure that your tracks can become radio ready hits, including Avid Pro Tools, monitoring from Focal and a range of high quality plugins from developers including Slate Digital, Waves, Positive Grid and Soundtoys. I understand that getting your vision across online can be difficult, so for that reason I offer unlimited revisions at no extra cost within 10 days of receiving your mix so that we can really nail the sound that you're after.

Another great experience working with you!
Quick and immediately made me feel comfortable will all my requests and was delivered a great final product! Multiple changes later and he still wanted to make sure I was happy!
Absolutely amazing. Very professional and responds promptly and frequently. He mastered my 6 song EP for a very fair price and his work is outstanding. Truly brought my songs to life and made them pop! I will definitely be coming back for any other songs :)
Very communicative. Follows accurately with your vision. Good sense of musical judgement. And extremely fast turnarounds. Hire Philip for your next project!!!
Philip mixed and master a lot of my recordings. He's job was excellent every time and he was always on time.
Phillip mastered out debut EP, and man, did he knock it out of the park.
Interview with Philip Marsden Music
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The range of music I get to work with, seeing clients happy with their mixes/masters and seeing the finished tracks out in the world!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: It can be really hard to get across your creative ideas over the internet - make sure you provide some detailed notes on how you want your project to sound and some reference tracks. Also make sure that the provider has a reasonable revisions policy. Aside from that just make sure that your tracks are recorded as well as they possibly can be and that any edits are clean!
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Record like there is no mixing and mix like there is no mastering.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I tend to mix from top down. (In reverse if you like) I start at the mix bus, applying some compression, very subtle EQ and some console and tape emulations. From there I treat each bus (for example the drum bus) before working my way down to each individual track or microphone. I find that working like this helps me to keep the bigger picture and end goal in mind.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work mostly in the box on Pro Tools, with monitoring from Focal and a range of high quality plugins from developers including Slate Digital, Waves, Positive Grid and Soundtoys. I use the New Old Sound LTD McONE for monitor control and my trusty Faderport for DAW control.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Sylvia Massy, Will Yip, Dan Lancaster, Donald Glover (Childish Gambino), Enter Shikari, Maggie Rogers, Creeper, The Story So Far, Ben Howard and many, many more.
