As a bass player i usually get the call for the session a couple of hours before , i have no idea what am i gonna record, i go hit the studio listen to the track, write down my charts , find the perfect sound, discuss with the producer what is he looking for and try to nail it as fast as i can to save him time.
As a music producer, am all about the sound, whether if its a small project , a song , a commercial . i get the brief from the client and then start finding a sound to it that satisfies his own requirements and at the same time to have a different sound for it.
