Grammy Nominated Little Big Town, Jason Aldean, Belle Mt Millions of streams with Major Label and Indie artists Specializes in mixing records and live performances for TV / streaming
I would love to mix your music.
Recent work has includes engineering Little Big Town's Grammy nominated Nightfall album, and the 2022 follow up Mr Sun, and mixing the acoustic version of the hit "Wine, Beer, Whiskey". Produced and mixed William Clark Green's live album "Live From The Baker Hotel". I also mix post for broadcast musical performances from Little Big Town and Jason Aldean. I enjoy taking a project from start to finish as much as being part of a team for a step along the way.
Mixing credits for records and live album cuts also include Belle Mt, Florida Georgia Line, Joe Nichols, and Drake White.
I mix with a hybrid rig based on Pro Tools HDX and Lynx Aurora(n). I infuse your sounds with analog warmth and depth coupled with the best in state of the art plugins.

Josh is super responsive, great at collaboration, took time to really understand what I was hearing in my head for my mix, and did a great job turning that understanding into a fully-realized mix maxing out its potential. Highly recommend.
Josh has mixed and mastered 12 songs for me and every single one of them has come out incredibly every time!! He is able to sonically craft an amazing finished song with anything he is given and bring out detail and musicality that makes my songs truly shine. He is super quick in response time and a great collaborator. I will continue to get Josh to work on everything I do!
Hands down, Josh is the best mix engineer I've ever worked with. He uses his vast knowledge and attention to detail to bring music to life, plain and simple.
Josh has mixed and mastered all the singles on our indie label LV music, we love working with him and he takes the productions to the next level.
Interview with Josh Reynolds
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Recording the "Nightfall" record for Little Big Town has been my favorite project thus far, getting to spend 9 months with the band crafting their sound in Nashville's finest studios was a treat. Every moment of that record was carefully curated to make a project that would clearly speak the heart of the band.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: There is no magic in mixing, but sometimes a fresh perspective on how the parts in a mix fit together to achieve the best listener connection can seem like it magically lifts a track.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I love being involved with clients early in their process to help guide the process and determine when you are ready to mix. Hit me up to talk about where you are in the process and how I can help!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on a wide variety of music, being based in Nashville has helped me find great Country music clients. I mix music for acts around the world in Pop, Alt Rock, and Indie genres as well. Always looking for fresh takes on all types of music.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a strong finishing perspective to your song, finding the balance from moment to moment through a track to guide the listener towards the emotion and feel.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Recently been inspired by the "Conversations At" team with Jon Castelli, hosting conversations for engineers to talk about things like room treatment and mix philosophies. There's always something to learn from listening to great engineers talking about their craft.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Always mixing releases for LV Music roster, Kane Miller and Dancing On Tables are full on at the moment
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Knowing your monitoring is crucial. Seek out that moment where you feel the music push and pull, and remember that feeling so you can find your way back.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start by simply balancing, finding the priority of the music throughout. Then narrowing into conflicts between sounds I arbitrate the sonic range to make sure everyone can breathe.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My mix rig is based around Pro Tools HDX and Lynx Aurora(n), with a collection of analog tones to process and parallel with your tracks.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is most important to you about your sound? What are you trying to make people feel?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Macbook Pro, Apollo Twin, RE-20, SM57, and a solar array for AC :-)
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: John Thomasson (bass) and Hubert Payne (drums) are both awesome at what they do.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Hybrid. I love the recallability of digital for working on revisions over time just as much as I love the tiny musical inconsistencies that are inherent in analog circuitry and just make stuff sound bigger.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love obsessing over music, finding the details and making sure they are felt.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started my career in Nashville in 2006, working for a live sound company doing gigs while always hustling to get better in the studio. I worked as an Apprentice Engineer at Ocean Way Studios in Nashville for a couple of years, learning how some of the best in the business get sounds, run sessions, and finish mixes. 9 years later I'm capturing bands either in my house or in studios around Nashville, working with bands to find their sounds and get them released. I also tour mixing front of house and broadcast for country vocal group Little Big Town. If you have heard them on TV I was responsible for how it sounded.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I want my style to amplify yours. Great production and mixing are only possible on top of a foundation of solid songwriting and performance, I will augment your talents and focus your direction.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Mixing is my strongest skill, I love finding the balance and flow of voices in a mix to draw attention in the right moments and keep focus throughout.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of my work is mixing, some days that's in a historic theater with Little Big Town, and other days that is in my home studio.
