Hi, I'm Marcel, I'm a guitar player, producer and arranger. I love what I do and I love working with people, working together with someone else always takes me places I couldn't get to on my own.
I've worked on countless records, shows, film and TV spots in a variety of musical styles. My most extensive experience is with Pop/Rock, Brazilian music (I’m from Brazil), groove-based music and Jazz. The best ways that I can help your project are: tracking guitars (electric or acoustic), writing arrangements (I write for strings, woodwinds, brass, etc) and producing (I can help develop artists and songs, help you with songwriting, contract the right musicians and engineers, I know how to turn an idea into a fully-realized product).
My notable credits: For a "video resume" go to my YouTube MeMarcelf, under playlists there are videos of my participation on most of my bigger jobs. I've been with Michael Bublé for about 7 years - through his band we worked on a record with Van Morrison and played with Mariah Carey, Mary J Blige, Rod Stewart, Bryan Adams, Ariana Grande, Tori Kelly and others on a number of TV shows. Outside of Bublé my past/current clients include Sergio Mendes, Herb Alpert, Macy Gray, Tom Harrell, Gretchen Parlato, Missy Higgins, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson (in his group we've done projects with Bilal, Seu Jorge, Shuggie Otis, etc). I'm the featured nylon guitarist on the TV show "Dexter," season 1, I also play 7-string guitar and cavaquinho on the films Rio 2 and Pitch Perfect 3. I have a bachelor's degree in Ethnomusicology from UCLA.
