Experienced Music Producer, Mixing Engineer, Songwriter, Arranger and Composer based in Cologne, Germany. Endlessly fascinated by the journey from idea to finished piece. Worked for and with artists and organizations like Samy Deluxe, Bazzazian, Gentleman, Bosse, David Menke, PeterLicht, K.I.Z., Staatsoper Stuttgart, Netflix, Disney+
First of all, forget all genre indications I made here. I am basically genre-agnostic. I have never cared about them, and I certainly will not start caring in the future. What I care about is ideas and helping them take and follow the road that they are meant to travel on.
If you have an idea that involves sound, and if you are in love with that idea and need a partner to make sure it gets to where it is supposed to go, there is virtually no limit to the ways I will be able to help you.
Yes, I am a composer, arranger and producer first and foremost. It is where I come from and what I still do most of the time. I have composed, arranged and produced for myself as well as for pop, indie and (modern) classical artists, for movies, series and audiovisual advertisments as well as for insitutions like operas, galleries and museums.
I also love mixing. I do not regard it as a technicality, but as a vital and fascinating part of the creative process. If a musical piece is a room, the furniture is chosen during arrangement, but the exact placement of each piece of furniture happens during mixing.
And then I love sound design. Most musical ideas will require certain feels, textures and colors to really come into bloom, and it will be my pleasure to join the hunt for them.

Interview with Boris Rogowski
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. I love analog, but I need to be able to easily save and recall the state of a project anytime. It is virtually impossible to simultaneously work on many projects without using a digital workstation.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Say hi :)
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Teenage Engineering OP-1 Field, AEA R88 (stereo mic), Neve 88M (audio interface), an upright piano and my MacBook Pro.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Passion, absolute attention to detail, and a sense of exploration that lets me go down roads many people would outright ignore—in my experience, these are often the roads that lead to real greatness.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: 20+ years of experience and a genuine and infinite love for music. Also a deep connection to sound aesthetics that helps me make the right decisions for very different kinds of projects.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I do a lot of work on my trusted headphones. By that I mean – a lot! I usually only start listening on speakers at about 80% of a project to check the stereo image. I like having the freedom to work on productions not only in the studio but also while travelling or at home. I firmly believe that changing your (very literal) vantage point can help you make the right decisions. However, the final 20% always happen in the studio, and I use ATC as well as Avantone speakers for mixing.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Everyone who shows real passion for what they do. I am fascinated by sonic alchemists like Max Richter and Cristobal Tapia de Veer, but also by pop auteurs like Rosalía or Nick Cave.
