Great work again, amazing vocalist!
Stunning, deep-toned vocals and a pleasure to work with.
Great singer, thanks so much!
Really amazing singer... warmth... feeling... soul... character... Wow!
She's got the "Wow"! - First take I thought Sheryl Crow was singing on my song... Really amazing in my opinion...
As you can see from my previous reviews - I recorded an entire album with Lucy. I think it speaks for itself: not only I trusted her to be the lead vocal on my songs, she exceeded my expectations most of the time.
Thanks Lucy, will be happy to work with you again!
Great job on the track #7. Nice crossover to the rock vocal! :)
Great job on the track #10.
Great vocal performance on the track #8 - mixes with the reverbs very nicely. The song sounds more colorful. Nice job!
Great job on the track #4! Right vibe, right attitude, really rocking performance!
Excellent performance of the song! Lucy sent me five versions of the track to chose, mix an match. On top of it - ad libs that compliment the melody. Thank you!
Amazing results! It is refreshing to work with a vocalist who doesn't need lot of instructions - moreover, can guide you with her vocal performance and show new ways to express the song. Looking forward to working with Lucy again!
Highly recommend Lucy. She has an amazing voice that brought the perfect emotion I needed to the project . Lucy also gave me a demo of styles before we began and the delivered a few takes for me to work with, so you really feel you are in good hands. Would definitely work with again
Lucy is very cooperative, her voice sounds great! I'm excited about starting my next project with her.
An exceptional artist and great to work with. A lot of back and forth and very helpful and understanding of the type of sound you want to achieve. Quick and professional. Highly recommend!!!
Lucy's improvisation and slightly changes of note even make the song sounding better!
Amazing as a singer and as a person. Would be happy to work with her again!
Lucy has been a true talent to work with. Her voice possesses a unique sound that separates her from all other female vocalists I have worked with. She can adapt to almost any situation my production teams have thrown at her, catering to almost any genre or style. Her experience as a producer also gives her tremendous value. She knows how to meet a deadline and deliver when needed.
Lucy rules! Such a refreshing vocalist that immediately breathes new life into tracks. Crazy adlibs melodies were on point, take after take of pure gold. Looking forward to working with her in future
Lucy is a phenomenal talent. We’ve created together for 10 years or so. She hits the notes, she takes direction. Her range is insane. Most important to me is her imagination + ability to improvise. Melodies, harmonies, whatever. I usually end up using her adlibs rather than my written parts. Also, she’s funny AF and a good hang. Simply put, Lucy will elevate your track. You will be over the moon.
Interview with Lucy Martin
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a raw authentic sound. My voice is beautifully intimate. I have a great ear for harmony and good taste in ad libbing and I give my clients a lot to play around with.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Typically I'm called in for a genuine raw sound. I'm not a polished Pop Diva but in my pocket I bring a tone and vibe that works beautifully with moody songs, folk covers and other vibey sounds.
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I really enjoyed singing a cover of Buddy Holly's "Everyday" for an IKEA spot.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most common type of work I get is singing and writing to enhance their song. Bringing my own sound, taste and harmonies that help finish the song.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm inspired by singers who bare their souls, folk singers from the past, super honest lyrics and gorgeous melodies. Amazing harmonies and people trying to create something meaningful.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: At home, I use an UA APOLLO TWIN with the SHURE SM7B using Logic X. I have relationships with different engineers and can hire them to record at top quality.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: For just singing work, I will learn the song, work to test out tone and vibe, send a test of a half song and after approval, record the final as agreed upon with the client. For songwriting - it can be a bit longer because no one wants a factory song.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What sounds have inspired you? What vibe are you going for? Are you open to more harmonies and ad libs?
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love surprising clients and making them even more excited about their song.
