Unique and genuine sound with soul.
Over 16 years professional experience as a back up singer and demo singer. I specialize in a folk influenced indie sound. A delicate intimate voice with power elements like Alanis Morissette and The Cranberries. I've recorded both indie and pop depending on the vibe of the song. For pop, I'm often working with a Lana Del Ray sound.

Lucy has been a true talent to work with. Her voice possesses a unique sound that separates her from all other female vocalists I have worked with. She can adapt to almost any situation my production teams have thrown at her, catering to almost any genre or style. Her experience as a producer also gives her tremendous value. She knows how to meet a deadline and deliver when needed.
Lucy rules! Such a refreshing vocalist that immediately breathes new life into tracks. Crazy adlibs melodies were on point, take after take of pure gold. Looking forward to working with her in future
Lucy is a phenomenal talent. We’ve created together for 10 years or so. She hits the notes, she takes direction. Her range is insane. Most important to me is her imagination + ability to improvise. Melodies, harmonies, whatever. I usually end up using her adlibs rather than my written parts. Also, she’s funny AF and a good hang. Simply put, Lucy will elevate your track. You will be over the moon.
Interview with Lucy Martin
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I really enjoyed singing a cover of Buddy Holly's "Everyday" for an IKEA spot.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Typically I'm called in for a genuine raw sound. I'm not a polished Pop Diva but in my pocket I bring a tone and vibe that works beautifully with moody songs, folk covers and other vibey sounds.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a raw authentic sound. My voice is beautifully intimate. I have a great ear for harmony and good taste in ad libbing and I give my clients a lot to play around with.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: For just singing work, I will learn the song, work to test out tone and vibe, send a test of a half song with the tone and then record the final as agreed upon with the client.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I use an UA TWIN with the SHURE SM7B using Logic X.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm inspired by singers who bare their souls, folk singers from the past, super honest lyrics and gorgeous melodies.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: The most common type of work I get is singing and writing/enhancing a song.
