Speedy, attentive, and thoughtful! Matt delicately balances quality with speed, producing finely mixed tracks in instants. He's able to convert feedback into tangible, positive results, and more importantly, can help adjust the character of the track to your liking. I'd highly recommend working with Matt as your mixing engineer :)

Working with Matt was one of my best mixing experiences. He delivered a mix that was the exact vision of how I had wanted the track to sound all along, his talent and skill is clear and it really took my track to a whole other level. I couldn't be more happier with the result! Communication was also fantastic throughout, which is really important to me.

It's rare to find someone who is this talented and immediately on the same wavelength creatively. I will 100% be a returning client!

Matt is a phenomenal mixing engineer. He's incredibly fast to communicate, and is very knowledgeable, so he can help mix your song in many different styles depending on your desired outcomes (check out his Allmusic credits!)

But most importantly, Matt is incredibly flexible. He's willing to work with you, be it with vision, your desired deliverables, and even adding elements to the track. There are tons of mixing engineers out there, but no one offered the amazing flexibility that Matt does. I'd highly recommend working with him for a professional, polished, and creative mix.

Matt has been the producer/mixer for all of my musical projects over the past several years. He has worked with some of the biggest names in the business and there's a reason why. His skillset, natural ear, and discerning taste lead him to make great decisions and guide artists through the creative process. He has really been the difference maker to take my music to the next level.

Interview with Matt Bishop

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: As an engineer on U2's "Songs Of Experience" it was a very high pressure environment that had no room for error. It was a lot of hard work and long hours that helped me learn a lot about myself. It was such an honor to be able to create music with true living legends.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: I cant live without either. The convenience of digital mixed with the unpredictability of analog is really the golden ticket.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: To help them achieve something they will be proud of.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: I love the variety in what I do. I love being able to help someone realize the full potential in their art.

  9. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  10. A: Laptop, Universal Apollo Interface, Stratocaster, Juno 6, SM7

  11. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  12. A: I have been working full time as a producer/mixer/engineer for the last 11 years in Los Angeles. I started my career as an intern at Clearlake Audio in Burbank, CA. My time there allowed me to meet many people and make connections that lead to full-time engineering for producer Jacknife Lee. Working with Jacknife really allowed me to hone my skills and learn from some of the greatest musicians and producers in the world.

  13. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  14. A: Perfect is boring

  15. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  16. A: Pro Tools and Logic are my DAW's of choice. I try and have instruments and gear that inspire creativity and exploration.

  17. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  18. A: Mixing & Production
