Matt is a fantastic mastering engineer. I really appreciated his notes for my song to edit before he mastered, in order for us to get to the best possible version after his master. He was really open to feedback and came through with something that took my recording to another level. Thank you Matt!!

Best mixer on the platform!

Matt continues to display not just technical mastery but musical as well. His ability to bring the best out of a production through feeling what elements should be prominent in a mix really allows you as the creator to take a backseat and just let him steer the ship. Highly recommend!

Matt is awesome. If you have never worked with Matt before and you are wondering how can he mix so many tracks a day and still provide results that are extraordinary -> I am asking the same thing. But he just does. His replies were so immediate I started wondering: Does this person even sleep? Did he steal something from Hermione? Bottom line is this. He will deliver a phenomenal mix. The question is not whether you should hire Matt. The question is whether your music is ready.

Matt was a joy to work with. He came with vision that made me feel his personal connection to the song and sincere artistic interest in it. The communication was prompt, clear, concise, and helpful. The mix itself is superb. Nothing but praise for this talented musician/technician/artist

Working with Matt was an absolute pleasure. He was very professional, receptive, and patient with us on our song.
This was the first time we had worked with an engineer for the mixing side of our production and certainly did not regret choosing Matt.

Interview with Matt Bishop
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: As an engineer on U2's "Songs Of Experience" it was a very high pressure environment that had no room for error. It was a lot of hard work and long hours that helped me learn a lot about myself. It was such an honor to be able to create music with true living legends.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I cant live without either. The convenience of digital mixed with the unpredictability of analog is really the golden ticket.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: To help them achieve something they will be proud of.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love the variety in what I do. I love being able to help someone realize the full potential in their art.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, Universal Apollo Interface, Stratocaster, Juno 6, SM7
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been working full time as a producer/mixer/engineer for the last 11 years in Los Angeles. I started my career as an intern at Clearlake Audio in Burbank, CA. My time there allowed me to meet many people and make connections that lead to full-time engineering for producer Jacknife Lee. Working with Jacknife really allowed me to hone my skills and learn from some of the greatest musicians and producers in the world.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Perfect is boring
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Pro Tools and Logic are my DAW's of choice. I try and have instruments and gear that inspire creativity and exploration.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Mixing & Production
