I’m a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer currently based in Portugal.
With more than 20 years of experience in music, I work with acoustic instruments, ambient textures and world music elements, creating organic and atmospheric layers for songs, soundtracks and artistic projects.
My background includes performing in the Brazilian rock band Tequila Baby and collaborating with the conscious music label Resueno, alongside artists such as Mose and Janax Pacha. These experiences shaped my approach to music as something both expressive and immersive.
Over the years I’ve developed a strong connection with acoustic instruments, improvisation and sound-based practices, allowing me to create musical layers that bring depth, emotion and atmosphere to a track.
I record from my studio using high-quality microphones and preamps, delivering clean and well-organized WAV stems ready to integrate into your production.
Services I offer:
• Multi-instrument recordings
• Acoustic and ethnic instrument layers
• Ambient and atmospheric textures
• Guitar overdubs and soundscapes
• Creative production elements for songs or cinematic music
If you're looking for organic instruments, depth and musical atmosphere in your track, feel free to reach out and tell me about your project.

Interview with Will Duarte
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I’m particularly proud of collaborations connected to the Resueno label where I contributed instrumental recordings and creative textures. These projects combine organic instruments and immersive sound design, creating music that is both musical and atmospheric.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: At the moment I’m working on new ambient and organic music projects as well as collaborations involving acoustic instruments and atmospheric sound design.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I’m always open to discovering talented professionals on the platform and collaborating when a project requires additional expertise.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I appreciate both. Digital tools give flexibility and precision, while organic instruments and microphones bring the warmth and character that make music feel alive.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is to always serve the music first and deliver recordings that feel natural, musical and supportive of the artist’s vision.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love the creative process of bringing new musical ideas into a song and collaborating with artists from different parts of the world.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Clients often ask how many instrument layers I will record. My answer is that I focus on what the song needs, sometimes one simple part is enough, sometimes a few layers help build the atmosphere.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Some people think adding instruments is just about playing more notes, but often the real work is understanding the space of the song and choosing the right sounds to support it.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I usually ask about the mood of the track, reference artists or songs they like, the role they expect the instrument to play and the timeline for the project.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Share references and describe the feeling you want the music to have. The clearer the artistic direction, the easier it is to create something that truly fits your track.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: An acoustic guitar, a small portable recorder, a microphone, a pair of headphones and a laptop with Ableton Live.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been involved with music for more than 20 years. I started performing and recording in Brazil, including playing in the rock band Tequila Baby, and later expanded into acoustic, ambient and world music. Today I work as a multi-instrumentalist and producer collaborating with artists internationally, including projects released through the Resueno label.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Organic, atmospheric and musical. I like to combine acoustic instruments, world textures and ambient elements to create soundscapes that feel natural and immersive.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to collaborate with artists who explore organic and atmospheric music such as Mose or similar projects that combine world instruments, electronic elements and immersive soundscapes.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Always leave space in a production. Sometimes the most powerful element in a track is not what you add, but what you decide not to play.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on ambient, world music, acoustic and atmospheric productions. I also collaborate on cinematic music, conscious music and projects that combine organic instruments with modern production.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My strongest skill is creating organic musical layers that blend naturally with a production. As a multi-instrumentalist I can approach a track from different angles and find the right instrument or texture to support the music.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring musical sensitivity, organic textures and a sense of atmosphere. My focus is always to enhance the emotional space of the song rather than overplaying, adding elements that support the story the music is telling.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Clients usually send me their track along with references or a description of the sound they are looking for. I listen carefully to the music and record different instrument layers that complement the atmosphere of the track. After that I deliver clean WAV stems ready to integrate into the production and make revisions if needed.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I record from a dedicated studio using Yamaha studio monitors, Beyerdynamic headphones and an Audient interface with high-quality preamps. My setup includes Audio-Technica, Rode and Shure microphones, Ableton Live 12 Suite and a large library of acoustic instruments and ethnic sounds.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by artists who combine organic instruments with atmospheric production such as Brian Eno, Daniel Lanois and Ry Cooder. In the conscious and world music scene I also appreciate artists like Mose and Janax Pacha for their ability to create immersive musical experiences.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Most of my work involves recording organic instruments and creating atmospheric layers for songs and productions. I often add acoustic guitar, ethnic instruments and ambient textures that bring depth and emotion to a track. I also collaborate creatively on arrangements when needed.
