Interview with Creepzz
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I’m proud of the record because it’s a nice vibe and out of my comfort zone — that’s why I liked it. The job is perfect now that the mixing stage is complete.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A whole lot of music, including a brand-new Afrohouse and EDM record.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes Jordan Grace for sure.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital, as I have never used analog.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise is always to try my hardest and give you the best of me.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Just having fun, enjoying making music, and following the passion.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: How did you do that? My reply: practice.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I’d say when I’m trying to mix, I’m forever playing the song back, doubting myself even when others are telling me it sounds okay.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What do you provide? How can you fulfill this job? Do you have experience, and do you offer discounts? So many people just want money, but music is worth more.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: I’d say: believe in yourself and strongly believe in your music. Me personally, I’d always give the best of the best, and I wish I had that when I started — instead of searching for features with big-time artists. Just be yourself, and good things will come.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: I’d take a mic, interface, laptop, headphones, and all the leads.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been doing this since the age of 8. Now, at 30 years old, I’d love to get out there majorly and let the world hear my sound and vision.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Raw, real, positive, and authentic.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d love to work with Burna Boy, as I feel he and I could make hits for days.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Hmm, one production tip I learned: I’d say when you record, put your elbow to the mic and your hand to your mouth — that’s how far you should stand from the mic for the best vocal delivery.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Usually UK rap, hip hop, afrohouse, or pop — but really, anything I catch a vibe to, I can 9 times out of 10 jump on it.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Writing Lyrics and recording.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Love, peace, positivity, and a whole new vibe.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Normally, I vibe to the beat or instrumental of the song to get the feel. Then, as soon as something comes to my head, the magic happens — and that’s how it really begins.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a home setup with a RØDE NT1-A microphone, a Focusrite Scarlett audio interface, and Alesis Elevate 5 MK II active studio monitor speakers.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m very inspired by Eminem, mainly because from a young age, when my journey began, my big brother made me listen to one of his full albums. From that moment, my whole perception of rap music changed — and up until now, I still love making great music.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I’m a professional rapper based in the UK. I usually write and record verses, hooks, and full songs for my clients, depending on their needs.
