Illberg is awesome! I had a clear vision and he brought it to life. He is very patient and talented!
Always a pleasure to work with Illberg, again very professional, quick and delivered high class stuff!
Again a very good experience working with Illberg, professional and very good results. Plus, he collaborates with very good singers.
He worked with me to create an incredible track that was exactly everything I wanted and more! Very professional, done in a timely manner, and exceeded all my expectations.
Quick and easy to work with but most importantly a very good ear for pop music. Really understood what I was looking for and delivered above my expectations. Recommended.
Interview with illberg
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Davey Nate & Shane Facchinello are two of the best providers on here I think. Would recommend them for any singing/top line jobs.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I like to record stuff and commit to sounds using real instruments and analog gear and then tweak it in the box, so I guess a combination of both.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: The freedom and the possibilities.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I usually ask for references if there aren’t any included. If there’s a demo, I’ll want to know what they like and don’t like about it. That usually makes the process easier.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be as specific as you can. Since most of these soundbetter colabs are done remotely it’s good to make sure that everyone involved have a shared vision for the project.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think I have a knack for finding deficiencies in a top line or production and hopefully I’m able to tweak it for the better.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: If I’m producing I usually start by putting the chords together, then the drums and so on. I try to “fail fast”, to keep the flow going. The further I get into the process the more I’ll focus on details until I’m obsessively eq-ing reverbs and riding the vocals up and down 0,5 dB. Eventually I’ll just call it done and send it over.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Like every other producer at the moment, I’ve got a MacBook Pro with an Apollo Twin and an SM7b. I use Focal Solo6 monitors, and then a bunch of guitars, piano, some random keyboards and a Neumann u67.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Ludvig Göransson, Ilya Salmanzadeh, ABBA
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Production, mixing & vocal recordings.
