Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to put my best foot forward and take your music sonically to the next level! That is what I do :D
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Hearing that a client/artists is satisfied and in love with their song after I worked on it!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That us providers can work for free and send samples for free. Creating music takes time and energy. I like to work with clients where we can build a mutual respect for one another!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What kind of music inspires you and how can I service your song to make it... sound better!
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Hire someone who CARES about your art. Yes we do require a fee but at the end of the day it's about creating meaningful art that resonates with you!
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, headphones, interface, keyboard and studio monitors!
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I grew up in Canada but moved to LA in 2011 and attended school in Hollywood, California at Musician's Institute and also UCLA College for Film Scoring. So that would make it 11 years!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is your style. It's all about being of service to others with the expertise I acquired over the years!
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Would love to work with Max Martin and possibly might one day! I respect his genius and would love to observe his creative process.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Referencing is a huge aspect of producing. I am a big advocate of sonically meeting a standard on the only way you can do that is making sure my clients work holds up or is even better than commercial music that is out there!
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I like to understand my clients tastes so I usually ask for a playlist or references that inspire them. I'll listen to these songs a few times to download their musical taste and do my best to cater my style of production to serve their art in a way that resonates with them!
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Listening to the artist or client and creating the foundation for their music to come to life!
