Kevin was fantastic to work with. He brought some great instrumental parts and asked that I build out a production around them. Then he put together a really magic top line. Great song! I can highly recommend Kevin.

Interview with Kevin Jamez
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Recently just finished producing my latest track coming out next month on the 14th called "I.D.K". I worked on the song along my buddy Cast, i was the Producer/Mixing and Mastering engineer along him being the CO-Producer. Im most proud of my work because it really brings out the emotions, the feeling that i always try to deliver to my listeners. It delivers a message that no matter what ... though we are blinded sometimes YOU'RE NOT alone and we'll always have that one friend thats there for us and its okay to be a FREE SPIRIT.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC MUSIC! its not even work lol
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: N/A
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: N/A
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Ill be direct forward with you, but i promise ill bring out the best sound for you. Im very flexible with ideas so if you tell me where you want this song to go, ill tell you how we're gonna do it.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I get to experiment with sounds and I'm able to work with so much talent across the world. At the end of the day no matter where you come from its music thats what i love most!
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That some people think i just listen to trap only lol
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is your goal out of this?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: BE READY
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Guitar, MPK MK2, HS8 Studio Monitors, Universal Audio Apollo TWIN MKll, laptop.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started producing in the back garage with my friends, they had introduced me to the native instruments machine. Ever since then i got inspired and motivated to learn more within music production. I attended Symmetry Academy in North Hollywood CA, being trained by my fellow mentor Sole.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I'm a free spirit.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would like to work with my guy Calvin Harris, you never know what expect from him. He's able to bring out the potential of a song and make it sound STUDIO/RADIO ready.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't listen to music before you produce.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Im everywhere, i have a ear for everything not just one specific genre.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Listening to music, addressing where to take the song next.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I believe every song tells a story, my objective is to bring out THE BEST POTENTIAL out of that song, i want it to be RADIO/STUDIO READY! Aside from that my objective towards creating records has always been to make people feel something, i know a lot of people on here are focused on creating hits, but fact is its never guaranteed, but i will bring out the best of your sound.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have a small studio where I'm able to get away and create, most importantly i have all the gear needed.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: WOO! this a long list ... but to keep it short Calvin Harris, Kanye West, 9th wonder, Daft Punk, The Weekend, Jhene Aiko, Dr Dre etc.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: It really comes down to the music. The credits, this interview, yeah it's somewhat important but the reality is the music has to fit. Don't look for someone who you can warp into what you're looking to do. Be open, and understand that producers are artists as well. We've dedicated much of our lives to creating sound, and the sounds we make are shaped by our experiences. You're shopping for that right sound to put on your wall.
