I’m Kevin Reinoso, a DJ, producer, and mixing/mastering engineer based in Miami. With 14+ years of experience and releases on labels like Hot Fuss and Happy Techno, I deliver loud, clean, dynamic mixes built for Spotify, Beatport, and club sound systems.
With years of experience behind the decks and in the studio, I understand exactly what makes a track connect on the dancefloor. My approach combines technical precision with creative taste, balancing punchy low-end, clear mids, and crisp highs for a professional sound that stands out.
I’ve worked with artists across Tech House, House, and Latin House, delivering mixes and masters that translate perfectly to both streaming and club environments. Interview with Kevin Reinoso
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My track “Atuska” is one I’m really proud of, it charted #30 on the Beatport Tech House Hype 100. I handled all the production, mixing, and mastering. That release helped define my sound and opened doors for collaborations with artists and labels I’ve always admired.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I’m finishing mixes for upcoming Stereo 22 Records releases and working with a few independent DJs on their next Beatport submissions. I’m also producing new original music including collaborations.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Not yet, but I’m looking forward to connecting and collaborating with other talented engineers and vocalists here soon.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: a little bit of both, I mix in the box for precision and recall, but I use analog gear for warmth and depth. The hybrid approach gives me the best of both worlds.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I treat every project as if it’s my own release. You’ll get my full attention, open communication, and a professional mix or master that sounds powerful, clear, and emotionally connected.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Hearing the final version of a track come to life when the client says, “That’s exactly how I wanted it to sound.” That reaction never gets old. And then hear it live either at the club.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: most of time is: Can you make my track sound as loud as this producer? My answer: “Yes, but we’ll do it without losing clarity or groove. Loud is easy. Balanced and dynamic is what makes a track professional.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That mastering is just about making something louder. In reality, it’s about balance, tone, and emotion, making sure the track translates perfectly on every sound system.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I always ask for a reference track, their goal for the song (streaming, label submission, club release), and what they feel is missing in the current mix. That helps me tailor the sound exactly to their vision.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Find someone who understands both the technical and emotional side of your music. Anyone can make something louder, but the right engineer knows how to make it feel right, preserving your energy while making it professional.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My MacBook with Logic Pro UAD Apollo Twin interface Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro headphones SSL 2+ preamp A MIDI keyboard to jam ideas anywhere
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started DJing and producing when I was a teenager, inspired by Miami’s underground house scene. Over the past 14 years, I’ve played at venues like Daer Miami, Club Space, and Vibra Urbana Festival, and released on labels like Hot Fuss, Happy Techno. Mixing and mastering naturally became part of my workflow as I developed my own sound.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Clean, groovy, and versatile. My mixes have punch, clarity, and movement while keeping that warm, human feel. I like to create space in the mix so every sound breathes, especially the drums and bass.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I’d love to work with Fisher his ability to create high energy songs that connects instantly with crowds. I’d enjoy bringing my own Latin groove and sound design approach into his creative space.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Less is more. Focus on quality over quantity. Cleaning up frequencies and leaving space in the mix is often what makes it sound bigger.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Mostly tech house, house, minimal and latin house, though I also work on minimal grooves. I love anything with rhythm and texture.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Creating balance and power in the mix. I’m great at taking a raw idea and turning it into something professional, radio-ready, and dance floor ready.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Groove, warmth, and impact. My goal is to elevate the track without losing its soul. I make sure every detail, especially the drums and bass, hits with precision and energy while keeping dynamics intact.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I start by listening to the raw mix to understand the vibe and energy of the track. Then I balance levels, clean frequencies, and shape the low end. Once the mix feels tight and musical, I move to mastering, bringing loudness, punch, and polish that translate well on any system, from clubs to streaming.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work from a hybrid setup built around Logic Pro X, with analog processing from SSL and Warm Audio gear for warmth and depth. I use high-end plugins like FabFilter, UAD, and Ozone, and monitor through KRK and Beyerdynamic headphones to ensure clarity across systems.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I’m inspired by producers like Dennis Cruz, Mark Knight, Michael Bibi, and Rafa Barrios, artists who blend groove, rhythm, and energy with simplicity and precision. Their ability to make a crowd move while keeping the mix clean and musical is something I always aim for in my own work.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I mix and master house and tech house tracks for DJs and producers who want a loud, clean, and energetic sound ready for Spotify, Beatport, and club systems. My focus is always on making sure every element hits the right balance while keeping the groove alive.
