Professional Sax and Flute Player from Vienna with many years of experience in recording solos and section parts as well as arranging, composing and producing.

Saxophonist Anna Keller, born in 1991 in Rosenheim (Germany), is a working musician based in Vienna (Austria).

Next to performing with many different lineups and bands from Austria and Germany, she leads her own project "Annamerika Quintet", the band "5 x 5" together with jazz violinist Cozy Friedel and the saxophone quartet "Grazias" with fellow musicians.

For these formations she composes and arranges music and has been performing in Austria and Germany for several years. She has also played in the USA, England and various European countries.

Anna Keller regularly performs with big bands from Styria and Vienna, including "Vienna Composers Big Band", for which she also composes music, "Graz Composers Orchestra", "Mega Mereneu Project", "Eddie Luis und die Gnadenlosen XL" and "Jazz Orchester Steiermark".

In Austria Germany and Switzerland, she also plays shows in many different lineups and works as a session musician on CD productions.

Anna studied with Prof. Karlheinz Miklin and Prof. Heinrich von Kalnein at the Jazz Institute of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in 2016 and a Master's degree in 2019.

  1. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  2. A: A new electronic music track featuring saxophone and releasing my new EP with my Jazz quartet.

  3. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  4. A: Analog instruments, if possible gear as well, production digital.

  5. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  6. A: I will either provide a result that fits perfectly for the music and the customer or work on it until it's perfect.

  7. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  8. A: Always new experiences, new people, lots of great ideas and music. Working on something until it's perfect. I am also so happy to be doing what I love the most.

  9. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  10. A: Do you have a specific sound and idea in mind and could you send me examples or soundalikes? Or would you rather receive ideas and suggestions from me?

  11. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  12. A: Professional saxophone player, band leader, composer, producer for more then 10 years-

  14. A: Trust you instinct.

  15. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  16. A: Jazz, Electronic music, Pop, Fusion, Funk.

  17. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  18. A: Improvisation and sound.

  19. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  20. A: If needed I can offer a lot of musical ideas and arrangement skills, but I also make sure to play parts very accurately and perfectly in tune.

  21. Q: What's your typical work process?

  22. A: Checking out the song/track and figuring out the best sound and musical ideas before recording. Always open to feedback and revision to make sure the result is suiting for the producer.

  24. A: Neuman TLM 102, Neumann KM184 Stereo Set, Steinberg UR44C interface, Strymon Big Sky Pedal, Nuendo Pro, Moog Matriarch, Roland FP50

  25. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  26. A: I am a Jazz musician, but I take influences of all genres and styles. I am very inspired by Sam Greenfield.

  27. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  28. A: Recording improvised or written out solos (also by demo track) with alto, soprano, tenor sax, flute or clarinet. Arranging and record horn section parts with my listed instruments.
