A classically trained double bassist and versatile multi-instrumentalist, Nicolas Deutsch has collaborated with a wide range of artists, from Émilie Simon and Petula Clark to Thomas Fersen, No One Is Innocent, and Jean Guidoni. A truly multifaceted musician, he is also an accomplished producer and arranger, contributing to numerous musical projects across genres.
Guided by an organic and instinctive approach to composition, Nicolas naturally extends his work to the performing arts — particularly dance — creating original music for choreographers such as Philippe Decouflé, Christian and François Ben Aïm, and Emmanuelle Laborit, among others.
His album All About Double Bass attracted attention for its cinematic quality, leading to multiple sync placements in film and television. In 2023, he released Exodus — a poetic and atmospheric exploration of the double bass, blending its deep resonance with the textures of oud and piano.
Nicolas’s music can be heard in the French TV series Cassandre, as well as in several Netflix productions, including Ragnarok and other international shows.
