Endorse CDG4 Reviews

I have had the privilege to work with Christian across a diverse range of projects, and in every instance his talent, attention to detail, and positive approach -no matter the challenge - are a joy to behold. He sets the standard not only in the quality of his work, but in the way he elevates everyone around him. Calm under pressure and deadlines, endlessly reliable, and deeply committed to excellence, Christian consistently delivers results that exceed expectations and makes even the most demanding situations feel manageable. A one of a kind musician.

I've worked Christian on multiple Fortune 500 projects, including one for Microsoft and Sony, and could not be happier with the results. He's not only a great producer but was amazing at directing our recording sessions in London, wearing multiple creative hats. The projects were all highly successful and we continue to work with Christian whenever the chance arises.
Highly recommend Christian to anyone looking for compelling composition, production and professionalism on a global scale.

I’ve worked with Christian for well over a decade and there’s no one I trust more to make the right decisions, play world class parts and be an extraordinary human being at the same time. He’s truly a unique all round proposition and any artist or project would be hugely lucky to have him involved in any way.

I’ve worked with Christian a lot for over 10 years now. In that time we’ve done many genres of music and many projects together.
He is consistently the shining light in the room. He’s a great positive force, brilliant musical taste, incredible player and completely unflappable. Not to mention the nicest man you’ll meet.I cant recommend him highly enough if you’re looking to work with him in any capacity
Interview with CDG
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: My dream was to work with Ryuichi Sakamoto, he has been a massive influence since the start of my career and I have always connected with his music.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work within two main fields: Contemporary Artist Production and Composition for Visual Media (Ads, Video Games, and Feature Films).
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I honestly believe my strongest skill is just being able to really listen to what the client wants, and what the project needs. It's about taking those two things and finding the simplest, most effective way to combine them.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I give my full dedication to every project. I view my role as a partner whose only job is to elevate the client's core idea and ensure the end product is to the highest standard.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My Typical Work ProcessMy process is built on clear communication, phased development, and flexibility, ensuring transparency and quality control for every project. The workflow adapts based on whether the project requires artist production or media composition. 1. Artist Production & Mixing WorkflowThis standard workflow applies to full-length songs, EPs, and mixing-only projects: We begin with a detailed consultation to establish the artist's vision, reference tracks, and sonic aesthetic. We agree upon the project scope, budget, and delivery schedule.Production / Tracking: (If required) I handle all instrumentation, arrangement, and vocal tracking, leveraging my hybrid studio setup to achieve the desired sound quality. I then deliver a first Rough Mix to the client for initial feedback on balance and creative direction. Revisions & Final Delivery: I integrate client feedback (typically a max of 3 revisions), and once approved, I deliver the final master-ready files (48k Hz 24 bit WAV) ready for distribution. 2. Media Composition Workflow (Ads, Games, Film)This process is designed for high-turnaround commercial work that requires precise narrative syncing: I conduct an in-depth review of the visual material and brief. For commercial projects (ads), I analyse the provided reference track and start with sketches that offer creative variations on that specific direction. For artistic projects (film), I focus on the narrative arc and develop 2-3 unique musical sketches. Sketching & Alignment: The chosen sketches or revisions are presented to the client to establish the palette, instrumentation, and core theme, ensuring alignment before the full score is developed. The score is composed and meticulously synchronized to the picture. This often involves blending complex orchestral libraries (or a real life orchestral instruments depending the budget) with analogue synthesis to create a unique soundscape. The score is presented for review embedded within the video. After one round of revisions, the final cues are delivered as high-resolution stems and a final stereo master, ready for the post-production sound mix.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I maintain a hybrid workflow, from my home studio to top-tier studios for larger-scale recording sessions. My home setup provides rich source material with both cutting-edge and vintage audio tools. Key Gear Includes: DAW: Logic Pro X Monitoring & Analog Processing: Genelec 8030 speakers, paired with the Tube-Tech CL 2A stereo tube compressor. Iconic Hardware Synthesizers: Roland Juno 60, Roland Juno 106, Minimoog, Prophet 6, Korg M1, synthesizers TB-303, TR-909, and TR-808. Performance Keyboards: Nord Stage 88, Nord Stage 76, and Korg Kronos 2. Software: Full collections from Waves, Spitfire Audio, Massive, and Serum, giving me command over virtually any sound required for contemporary or cinematic production.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I have a long lists of inspirations, but this is my condensed version. On the production side, I love producers such as Max Martin and Quincy Jones, artist wise my influences are from Prince, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, and Brian Eno. For composition, my early love involves Bach and the harmonic sophistication of Bill Evans, but I am heavily influenced by modern storytellers who blend electronic and acoustic textures, specifically Ryuichi Sakamoto, Hans Zimmer and Ludwig Göransson. I also draw significant inspiration for orchestration, melody, and world-building from Duke Ellington, Ennio Morricone, and Nobuo Uematsu. I have a deep love for Japanese classical music and I feel that has been a massive influence in how i approach the space of a composition.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I provide comprehensive production and mixing services, helping artists define their sound both in the studio and in live performance settings. I am also an experienced media composer, creating scores for ads, gaming, and film projects of all scales.
