Clever was a pleasure to work with! He was recommended by an artist I work with on my song right here on SoundBetter. After I checked his work samples, I knew he would be the right person for the project. Being a producer/beatmaker myself, having an experienced talented engineer to listen to your music with fresh ears and give a completely unbiased opinion on my song was what I needed. He took the song to another level. Ready to release to the world. Will definitely hire Clever again!

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: When seeking a provider like myself, my advice is simple yet crucial: -Listen to their previous work to assess if their style aligns with your vision. -Communicate openly and clearly about your goals, preferences, and expectations. -Look for a provider who actively listens, asks the right questions, and offers valuable insights. -Trust your instincts and choose someone who understands your unique musical identity. -Select a provider who resonates with you creatively and has the passion to bring out the best in your music.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Given the circumstances: 1. A nuclear-powered laptop (duh) 2. A microphone to capture the sounds of nature (and my own madness) 3. A trusty pair of studio headphones (because even coconuts deserve a good mix) 4. A rugged portable MIDI controller (for impromptu jam sessions with the local wildlife) 5. And a high-quality audio interface (because even on a deserted island, pristine sound matters)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My career path began 10+ years ago when I started exploring music production using FL Studio. Initially drawn to the EDM scene, I had the pleasure of having my music played at prestigious festivals like TomorrowWorld and Ultra. Driven by a desire to expand my skills and explore new genres, I dedicated myself to continuous improvement and learning. Along the way, I had the opportunity to collaborate with renowned producers and artists, sharing studio sessions, conversations, and invaluable knowledge. However, it was in Medellin where I truly found my professional footing. Immersed in a vibrant music scene, I matured as a producer and honed my skills to become a seasoned professional. Today, with a wealth of experience and a passion for my craft, I am dedicated to pushing boundaries, collaborating with talented individuals, and creating exceptional music that resonates with audiences.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I relate genres and sounds to cities, and my style is like a megalopolis embodying the essence of music capitals such as LA, Miami, Medellin, and London. These cities have greatly influenced the musical landscape, and resonate strongly in my work. From the iconic studios of LA to the vibrant Latin energy of Miami and Medellin, and the rich musical heritage of London, I find inspiration in these cultural hubs. Studying the practices of renowned producers in these cities, I've absorbed their wisdom and integrated their techniques into my own creative process.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Hard to say, a single one. Ariana Grande, Bad Bunny, Majid Jordan I could go on...
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: From latin pop to hip-hop, electronic to reggaeton. I embrace the diversity of music and thrive in exploring new sonic territories. I believe that every genre has its unique beauty and emotional depth, and I approach each project with an open mind and a desire to bring out the best in the music, regardless of the genre.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Capturing the essence and emotion of your song. I have a keen ability to translate the artist's vision into a tangible musical experience that resonates with listeners. I strive for simplicity and clarity. I want the music to breathe and resonate with the listener on a deep level.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: Beatmaking: I start by laying out a chord progression that sets a solid foundation and gets the workflow going. Subsequently, I build potential melodies and motifs that bring life to the track and seamlessly intertwine with the chords. Then comes the bassline (Probably the most important element in the genres I specialize in) at which point the potential of the track should be clear. I then dive into sound design ensuring a rich sonic palette. Finally, I meticulously select and craft drums that cut through the track, grab the listeners' attention, trying to use the whole frequency spectrum and stereo field. Once that 8-16 bars section is completed, I arrange the full track, adding FX and transitions in the process. Production: In the context of well-funded production projects, I embrace the opportunity to collaborate with talented topliners and lyricists early on in the beatmaking process. By involving them in the creative journey, we ensure a cohesive vision for the song right from the start. Once the initial collaborative session concludes, planning takes place to determine the next steps of the project. This includes carefully budgeting and considering the necessary resources and talents required to elevate the song to its highest possible level. From musicians and vocalists to engineers and additional creative contributors, every decision is made with the aim of realizing the song's fullest potential. By meticulously coordinating these collaborative efforts and thoughtfully allocating resources, we strive to craft a musical piece that embodies the desired artistic vision and resonates with the audience in a profound way. Mixing & Mastering: When it comes to mixing and mastering, I adopt a methodical approach to achieve a balanced and polished sound. My process begins by prioritizing the foundation of the mix, namely the kick and bass elements. I dedicate focused attention to sculpting their tones, ensuring they resonate harmoniously and provide a solid low-end foundation. With this fundamental core established, I proceed to build and blend the remaining elements of the mix, considering their individual characteristics and sonic interactions. Throughout the process, I employ various techniques such as equalization, compression, and spatial enhancement to enhance clarity, presence, and depth. With a keen ear and attention to detail, I craft each element to complement one another, striving for a cohesive and captivating sonic experience. Once the mixing stage is complete, I transition to the mastering phase. Here, my objective is to refine the overall sound and optimize it for various playback systems. I employ precision mastering techniques to ensure an appropriate balance of frequencies, dynamic range, and stereo imaging. With a meticulous approach, I aim to achieve a final master that showcases the intended artistic vision while adhering to industry standards.
