Hi my name is Eduardo, an Audio Engineer and Music Produce from Mexico City.
I graduated in 2023 and since I've worked with local independent artists for the past 2 years, so I have more experience when it comes to understanding ideas, creative process and references.
I like being creative and put my all into the projects I'm involved but also knowing and understanding my place and respecting the roots of the song.

Interview with Eduardo Hernández
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: A song called Puedo Volar, cause it was the song that made me feel represented trough my art and although I have improved my sound since then that song made me fell in love with production. I did everything on that record.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I just finished a song for my personal project and start working on a original score for an independent short film.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: For the time being, but I'd love to meet partners and colleagues.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I think it depends to the nature of the song, but I work all inside the box because it's more efficient so I'd choose digital.

A: I will work relentlessly to ensure that you feel satisfied and represented by your song.

A: How the creative idea can grow into something that resonates with peoples lives.

A: Q. What's your delivering time? A. I have an specific one pending on the service im hired for. Q. Do you know music theory? A. Yes, In fact I studied it in Uni. Q. Do you charge to start working? A. Because of the nature of my profession yes, i charge 50% tos start working and 50% to deliver.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's easy and it's just inspiration. It requires a lot of work and as much as the inspiration can help, there are different methods to work out a song.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: How do you want your song to sound and feel like? How your song came to life? What's your creative process? When are you planning to release your song?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: To hire someone who cares about and appreciate music as much as you.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A computer, headphones, an audio interface, xlr/inst cable and a SM57 microphone.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been active since 2023.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Trying to push the limits of the genre Im going for.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: C.Tangana His vision is unique and goes full with it.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: The production is like painting a picture, every layer you add or remove defines the style.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Alternative pop and rock. I also like doing RnB, Hip Hop and Reggaeton.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Making arrangements for every instrument so each one shine can give certain color when its needed.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My creativity and attention to detail. From a instrument that show up only in the pre chorus to the sound of a guitar that plays all around the song.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I ask for your demo or stems, I listen to it, and then we talk about what energy, feeling and sound you're looking for. Then I ask for references, specific ones in terms of sound design, arrangements, production style. Once I have all this info I can start working and showing my takes and progress so I can get feedback that nudge me in the right direction. I have a stablished schedule for every service I offer so in the beginning we discuss what's the best way to accomplish the goal.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My Mac Pro, a pair of KRK Rocket 7", my Behringer Interface and my Senheiser 650 HD headphones vs the world. My instruments are my three guitars (acoustic, nylon and electric) And my best friend, ProTools.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My all-time heroes are The Beatles, Björk, Natalia Lafourcade and Mac DeMarco. And the artists that have changed my life are Mac Miller, Juan Gabriel, Men I Trust, Pink Floyd, Luis Miguel and Kendrick Lamar. The appreciation I have for music is endless, but these are the ones that have a special place I my heart.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I do mostly production, mixing and mastering. But any kind of service I seek for the best sounding result.
