Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both analog and digital can deliver amazing results. For me, it’s all about knowing how to dial in the right settings and choose the best tones for each song. Analog gear brings warmth and character, while digital tools offer flexibility and precision — the best choice depends on the musical context and the sound you want to achieve.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: One of the most important production tips I can share is to always prioritize the feel and groove of the song over excessive complexity. A well-played bass line with good timing, dynamics, and tone will always serve the music better than playing too many notes.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I usually work on Pop, Rock, R&B, Gospel, Funk, and many other styles. I enjoy adapting my playing and tone to fit each genre, always focusing on what best serves the song and the artist’s vision.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring versatility, strong musicality, and a solid bass tone that supports and enhances the song. I’m comfortable using different techniques and approaches depending on the style, always focusing on creating parts that serve the music and add depth, groove, and energy to the track.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My typical workflow is simple and efficient. After understanding the client’s vision and the song’s direction, I record and deliver two versions of the bass track: one completely clean (DI) and another processed with preamp and effects when appropriate for the music. This gives the client maximum flexibility during mixing and production.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio setup is built for professional remote bass recording and production. I work on a MacBook Pro with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface, using Logic Pro and LUNA as my main DAWs. My bass collection includes a Sire V7 Vintage, Squier Deluxe V, and Waldman Premium Master, allowing me to cover a wide range of tones and styles. For shaping my sound, I use an Aguilar AG Preamp and a Zoom B3n for additional effects and sound design when needed.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I specialize in online bass guitar recordings, delivering high-quality performances with strong technique, musicality, and creativity. I can also incorporate effects and unique textures when they fit the song’s style and emotional direction, always focusing on enhancing the overall production.
