DENNYIAH on SoundBetter

Soulful & cinematic vocalist blending emotion, power, and storytelling — available for features, toplines, and session vocals. Full lead and backing vocal production.

I’m a Slovak singer and songwriter known for my soulful, cinematic pop sound — a blend of blues, grunge, folk, and country influences that come together in something deeply emotional and authentic. I’m the lead vocalist of Dennyiah, a project that’s been making waves in Slovakia and beyond with a sound that bridges intimate storytelling and bold, cinematic production.
Our single became a top 10 radio hit in Slovakia, staying on the charts for more than six months and still receiving airplay today. I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with incredible musicians and producers such as Keith Carlock, Michael League, Becca Stevens, Nicolas Hard, Nathan Schram, Dave McNair, Yoad Nevo, Kevin Scott, Justin Stanton, Lera Lynn, and Jasey Blankfort — experiences that have shaped me both artistically and professionally.
Whether you’re looking for a heartfelt lead vocal, emotional harmonies, or a strong creative partner for your next song, I bring warmth, depth, and storytelling to every project I’m part of. My voice can move from intimate and delicate to powerful and soaring — always serving the emotion of the song first.

Interview with DENNYIAH

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: One project I’m especially proud of is a song called Iohan, which I created years ago for a traveler who biked from Alaska to Argentina and documented his journey on YouTube. I followed his videos regularly, and when my guitarist sent me a guitar theme he had written, the lyrics and melody came to me immediately. We shared the idea with Iohan, he loved it, and we decided to finish the song together. We invited Polish violinist Adam Bałdych to collaborate, and the result was something truly beautiful. I’m very proud of that song and of the heartfelt connection and collaboration behind it.

  3. Q: What are you working on at the moment?

  4. A: I’m currently working on new music with my project Dennyiah, as well as collaborating with international producers on features, toplines, and cinematic vocal projects.

  5. Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?

  6. A: Yes — I’ve worked with both Yoad Nevo and Brendan Dakora, and I would happily recommend them. Yoad mixed our latest release Satellite as well as a new unreleased song we just finished, and Brendan Dakora worked on two tracks from our first album Human Aspect. They’re both active on SoundBetter and bring great talent and professionalism to every project.

  7. Q: Analog or digital and why?

  8. A: I mainly work digital for flexibility, clarity, and quick workflow — especially when collaborating remotely. But I love blending in analog warmth when needed to add character and depth to vocals.

  9. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  10. A: To deliver vocals that are emotionally honest, technically solid, and fully aligned with your vision. I’ll communicate clearly, respect your deadlines, and treat your song with the same care I give my own music.

  11. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  12. A: Bringing someone’s song to life with emotion and authenticity. I love connecting with stories, creating atmosphere, and delivering performances that make people feel something.

  13. Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?

  14. A: Clients often ask about turnaround time. My answer: standard delivery is 5–10 days, but I offer a 24-48 -hour turnaround option upon request if the project needs a fast delivery.

  15. Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?

  16. A: That vocals are quick and effortless to record. A great performance takes preparation, intention, and attention to detail — especially when telling a story with emotion and nuance.

  17. Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

  18. A: I usually ask about the project’s mood, references, deadlines, release plans, and whether they need harmonies, ad-libs, or vocal arrangements. I also ask about the emotional background and the story behind the song — what we’re trying to say and how it should make the listener feel. All of this helps me understand how to best serve the track.

  19. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  20. A: Share your vision clearly — references, emotions, and context help me deliver exactly what you imagine. Open communication always leads to the best results.

  21. Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

  22. A: My microphone, audio interface, laptop, headphones, and a small MIDI keyboard — and I’d definitely bring a notebook and pencil too, because I love writing lyrics the old-fashioned way. Enough to stay creative, record ideas, and capture emotions anywhere.

  23. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  24. A: I’ve been singing and writing music for many years and working professionally for over a decade. I’m the lead vocalist of Dennyiah, a project that achieved a Top 10 radio hit in Slovakia for over six months. I’ve collaborated with respected musicians and producers such as Keith Carlock, Michael League, Becca Stevens, Nicolas Hard, Jasey Blankfort and Yoad Nevo. These experiences have shaped my artistic voice and my approach to session work.

  25. Q: How would you describe your style?

  26. A: A textured, atmospheric vocal style influenced by pop, blues, grunge, folk, and alternative sounds. I’m comfortable moving from a whisper-like tenderness to a powerful, resonant performance, always with the goal of serving the story.

  27. Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

  28. A: I’d love to work with artists like Hozier, Björk or Thom Yorke — musicians who create atmospheric, emotional worlds where vocals carry as much storytelling weight as the production itself.

  29. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  30. A: Always leave space for the vocal. A great vocal shines when the arrangement supports it, not competes with it — simplicity and clarity often create the strongest emotional impact.

  31. Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

  32. A: I mostly work on soulful pop, cinematic pop, alternative, acoustic, and folk-influenced productions — anything centered around emotion and strong vocal presence. I’m also open to other sub-genres and alternative styles such as electronic pop, indie electronic, ambient, downtempo, alt-R&B, dream pop, trip-hop, and modern singer-songwriter. I love exploring new textures and blending genres to create something unique.

  33. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  34. A: Delivering emotionally honest, cinematic vocals that connect deeply with listeners. I bring both technical control and expressive storytelling to every performance.

  35. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  36. A: I bring emotion, texture, and a cinematic feel — a voice that can move between soft intimacy and powerful expression. I focus on storytelling, connecting deeply with the lyrics, and delivering a performance that elevates the song’s atmosphere and message.

  37. Q: What's your typical work process?

  38. A: I start by discussing the vision, references, and emotional direction with the client. Once we’re aligned, I record lead vocals, harmonies, and any additional layers needed. I deliver clean, organized stems, and include three free revisions to make sure the performance matches your vision perfectly.

  39. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  40. A: I’m inspired by artists and creators who lead with emotion, tone, and authenticity — people like Björk, Becca Stevens, Adele, Florence Welch, Chet Faker, Hozier and Radiohead. Their attention to detail, musicianship, and honesty in their work encourage me to bring the same depth to every project.

  41. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  42. A: I mainly record soulful, cinematic lead vocals, emotional toplines, and rich harmonies for pop, alternative, and acoustic productions. I also help shape lyrics and vocal arrangements to bring more depth, feeling, and storytelling to a track.
