experimental IDM producer based in Wroclaw Poland. John Distefano Studied Ableton production at Tony music school of Wroclaw under the guidance of electronic music producer Mislaw and multi-instrumentalist director Łukasz Ciesiołkiewicz. Currently producing IDM, ambient and experimental music
John Distefano founded the post-rock band Good Morning
Finch, where he served as the bassist for over a decade, playing around Italy and Poland,
alongside with "giants" as Diaframma and many Italian Indie acts (Waines, Oratio,
Luminal, Iotatola). The band's atmospheric sound, driven by Distefano's deep, melodic
bass lines, gained them recognition and a devoted group of supporters. He also broadened his musical
horizons and he is active in the world of electronic music. He plays synthesizers in the
ambient duo tour d'hiver, crafting soundscapes that evoke a meditative and cinematic
quality. Under the moniker Warm Knives, he also releases IDM music, blending glitchy
beats and complex electronic arrangements. His first EP as Warm knives was pubblished in the USA by Webelotrax label in November 2024. John Distefano's diverse artistic pursuits—
ranging from post-rock and ambient music to electronic music—illustrate his commitment
to exploring new creative universes and pushing the boundaries of traditional genres.
