Interview with BRprod
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I’m especially proud of my work as a ghost producer for many artists. I’ve delivered complete tracks to them, including mixing and mastering, helping them bring their music to the next level. Because of the nature of ghost producing, I can’t disclose their names—the glory rightfully belongs to the artists themselves. It’s rewarding to know that my work supports their creative success behind the scenes.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I’m working as a ghost producer for several artists. Due to confidentiality agreements, I’m not able to disclose their names, but I’m proud to be part of bringing their music to life behind the scenes.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes, I know several talented professionals on SoundBetter whom I highly recommend. The platform is full of skilled artists, producers, and engineers who deliver top-quality work. If you’re looking for specific recommendations—whether for vocalists, mixers, or other specialists—I’d be happy to connect you with trusted providers who fit your project’s style and needs.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I believe both analog and digital have their unique strengths, and I like to blend the two to get the best results. Analog gear brings warmth, character, and a tactile feel that adds depth and soul to the music. Digital tools, on the other hand, offer incredible flexibility, precision, and endless creative possibilities. By combining analog warmth with digital efficiency, I can create rich, polished productions that feel both organic and modern.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise to my clients is simple: I’m fully committed to bringing their vision to life with the highest level of quality, professionalism, and creativity. I’ll communicate openly and transparently throughout the process, respect deadlines, and work tirelessly to make sure the final product exceeds expectations. Your music is my priority, and I’m here to help you create something truly special.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I like most about my job is the ability to bring ideas to life and create something that connects with people on an emotional level. I love the creative freedom it offers—being able to experiment with sounds, moods, and styles keeps every project fresh and exciting. Plus, collaborating with artists and helping them realize their vision is incredibly rewarding. Seeing a track go from a simple idea to a finished piece that moves listeners never gets old.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Customers often ask questions like: How long does the production process take? Can you work within my specific genre or style? How involved will I be in the creative process? What deliverables will I receive at the end? How do you handle revisions and feedback? My answer is always to emphasize clear communication and flexibility. I explain that timelines can vary depending on the project, but I always aim to deliver quality work promptly. I’m comfortable working in a wide range of styles and welcome client input throughout the process to ensure the final product matches their vision. I also clarify the number of revisions included and how feedback is incorporated to achieve the best possible result.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: One of the biggest misconceptions about what I do is that music production is just about pushing buttons or using presets. In reality, it’s a complex creative process that involves deep knowledge of sound design, arrangement, mixing, and a lot of experimentation. Every track requires careful attention to detail and a strong emotional connection to bring it to life. It’s both an art and a science, and the best results come from passion, skill, and continuous learning.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: When working with prospective clients, I like to ask questions that help me fully understand their vision and needs. Some key questions include: What’s the overall mood or vibe you want the track to convey? Are there any reference tracks or artists that inspire this project? What’s the intended use or audience for the music? Do you have specific ideas about arrangement, instrumentation, or sound design? What’s your timeline and budget for the project? How involved do you want to be in the production process? These questions help me tailor my work to fit the client’s goals and ensure a smooth, productive collaboration.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: My advice for anyone looking to hire a provider like me is to prioritize clear communication and a shared vision for the project. Make sure you choose someone who listens to your ideas and understands your goals, but also brings their own expertise and creativity to elevate the final result. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and request references or samples to feel confident in their skills. A good collaboration is key to turning your vision into an amazing track.

A: laptop, Apollo Solo, Beyerdinamic dt 770 pro, Ableton, moog subsequent 37

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a unique blend of creativity, technical skill, and deep musical intuition to every song I work on. Whether it's crafting compelling melodies, designing innovative sounds, or creating tight, dynamic arrangements, I focus on enhancing the emotional impact and overall vibe of the track. My goal is always to help the artist’s vision come to life in the most authentic and powerful way possible, while adding my own touch of polish and professional quality.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: My typical work process starts with gathering inspiration—whether it's a melody, a groove, or a sound design idea. I usually begin by laying down basic chord progressions or beats to build the foundation. From there, I experiment with different sounds, synths, and effects to shape the track’s mood and energy. I like to work in stages: first focusing on arrangement and composition, then moving on to sound design and detailed production. Mixing and fine-tuning come last, ensuring everything sits perfectly in the mix. Throughout the process, I stay open to new ideas and let creativity guide me, often revisiting sections to refine and improve.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: My studio features an acoustically treated room that ensures accurate sound monitoring and a balanced listening environment. I use a Universal Audio Apollo Solo audio interface paired with a powerful Universal Audio UAD-2 PCIe OCTO Core DSP for pristine recording and mixing capabilities. For monitoring, I rely on Kali LP6 as my main studio monitors and Mackie CR4 as secondary monitors, complemented by Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 250 ohm headphones for detailed listening. My setup also includes an M-Audio Oxygen 61 MIDI keyboard, giving me expressive control over virtual instruments, and a Mackie Big Knob volume controller for seamless monitoring adjustments.
