Multi faceted producer and song engineer able to produce, mix and master a wide variety of tracks ranging from hiphop beats to electronic music. I have amassed over 500 million streams over a variety of genres on self produced, mixed and mastered songs. Hip hop credits include, Smoke DZA, Erick The Architect, Katori Walker and more.
My name is Gustaf Isaacson and I have been a full time music producer since 2017. I have lots of experience 'writing to prompt' meaning I can derive and build up a song based off of any references provided. Thru my time producing I have made lofi hiphop, house, trap, drum and bass, drill and many other genres.
I consider myself a swiss army knife in the producing world and can step in to help at many different points of production.

Interview with goosetaf
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Analog, more hands on and prone to creating something you didn't intend.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise that we both leave happy with the job.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Being able to create a sonic version of a feeling that I have experienced is pretty cool. Theres also that moment when you know a song is working and that sense of inspiration feels really fulfilling.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: A lot of questions involve the beginning of creating a song. Where do you go from a blank project. I like to answer by just showing what 5 minutes of work with no specific destination can do in song creating.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That the majority of what I do is sit in a chair and make music. The business half what I do is often overlooked and a tremendous amount of work and problem solving. From figuring out how to brand yourself
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Instead of asking what sounds, I would ask what feelings they want their music to convey.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Ask and have references of work similar to what you desire. Whether it be a full song or one particular snippet of a musical piece you like, anything that inspires the client is useful.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Laptop, Headphones, Interface, Super 6, and a candle.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I started DJing in 2015 which then progressed to me downloading ableton in 2016. I started with sampling records and quickly fell in love with production and song writing. Ive been independently releasing music since then and have worked with companies like Epidemic Sound to produce additional songs.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Clean but with lots of texture and abnormalities that bring life to a track.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Overmono. They exist in such a cool music space between hard hitting and melodic. I really like the simplicity in their work can bring so much emotion.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Sometimes less is more. When I think a section needs a new element, sometimes it just needs one element removed.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: It changes all the time. I spent the majority of my time learning production making lofi hiphop and smoother hiphop beats. These days its a mix of that and electronic music ranging from stuff like fred again to overmono.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I would say my strongest skill is being able to create and finish songs in a timely manner.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a different perspective. So many times after hearing the same idea over and over it takes a fresh set of ears to bring it back to life. Whether it be in the arranging, the sounds, or the mixing, I feel like having a set of experienced ears can always be worth it.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: When I am creating, I usually just listen to whats been inspiring recently and start jamming around. I found starting with drums vs starting with melodic elements really shapes where my track goes so I bounce back and forth.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work out of a home studio that I built in 2021. I have a pair of ATC SMC45s as my main monitors and a plethora of synthesizers and pedals to create the sounds. This space has been the home to any of my production in the last 4 years and gives me the creativity and drive to work every day in here.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Musicians like Kiefer, Elijah Fox, and The Kount who know how to build up fan bases from finding creative ways to show their mastery of various production elements.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Assisting in any part of song production whether it be starting from scratch or the final details.
