Producer and multi instrumentalist with a studio in Stockholm and a bachelors at the Royal collage of music in Stockholm. I love exploring intricate electronic soundscapes as much as a well crafted song on just guitar and vocals.
Producer and multi instrumentalist based in Stockholm, Sweden. With a background of playing in indie bands and producing electronic music and pop I'm comfortable working with a wide variety of genres. Currently I'm especially interested in folk and other acoustic genres. I play the piano as my main instrument and am also well versed in guitar, banjo and synthesis. In 2024 I got my bachelors at the royal collage of music and am currently working from my studio in Skanstull, Stockholm.

Interview with Vilmar Jansson
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: When I'm not working with freelance projects I'm in the process of finishing a indiefolk Ep in my own name.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: The sound isn't that different but the way you play it is. If you want to sound like a live musician go with analog. turning knobs in real time will sound more human than programming it. If you want to sound like most modern pop go with digital.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: A guitar, a banjo, a laptop and a zoom h5 (stereo microphone field recorder). And maybe a violin. If I'm stuck at a dessert Island I might as well learn a new instrument.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Use a bow on any stringed instrument (guitar is good and bass sounds amazing) and anything can be percussion if you process it right. I once made taiko drums from a bus stop.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work a lot with electronic pop but am steadily shifting towards acoustic production. Especially in my own music I am exploring folk and the sonic capabilities of acoustic sound.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I work with music both as a producer and as an instrumentalist. I can deconstruct sound to create just the sound or noise that your song needs but also know how to treat a musical performance to make sure that your expression comes through in the production.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I am a producer as well as a songwriter and a seasoned musician. I have a good understanding of all the parts that goes into a great song but I aslo know how personal these project can be. I make sure to communicate with my clients to understand what they need for their project and create music to strengthen their vision.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm incredibly inspired by the production of Ethan Gruska, Jack Antonoff, Mk.gee, Sophie, A.g. Cook and songwriting of Jonsi, Phoebe Bridgers and all of the above.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I elevate my clients production to a professional standard. There are so many great songwriters who make great songs but that have not put the same time into learning production. I make sure to get a good understanding of their vision for their songs and create professional productions/arrangements that match their story.
