Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Fast and well done job.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Creativity.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I think it´s about knowing the objectives and goals, in a clear and honest way.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be clear about you want, without any kind of fear.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I´ve been a session musician and side man for almost 30 years now. With the last 10 years been dedicated to film music.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I don´t have a style at all.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Take care of the song. Listem carefully.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work on an immense variety of music. Absolutely, there´s not a specific type of music I work on. For the last 10 years, working with film music, I´ve covered a huge variety of music styles and genres.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Creativity.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: First of all, it´s about to fulfill the visions of the artists involved. So, it´s about serving the artist and also the song´s needs.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It starts with briefing and further assessment of what needs to be done, in case of music composing for audiovisual material. In case of producing or recording music for albums or singles, I try to understand things with the artists. And then, record as best as possible.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work on two possible environments: a smaller setup (Pro Tools with UAD), with plenty of MIDI resources. And a bigger setup, allowing the recording of bigger instruments, like drums and percussion. All microphones used are top notch, also with a pristine selection of plug-ins, like Fabfilter, Soundtoys, among others.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I admire professionals like Olafur Arnalds, Hildur Guðnadóttir, amongs others.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I work in two ways: composing original material or recording instruments over pre recorded material. I play guitars (acoustic and electric), bass, keyboards, drums and percussion.
