Interview with Hunted Recordings
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm very proud on few unreleased tracks(Dec'24) I was mastering one track for my client and that song is so good, he likes it so much, I love it and I'm just proud on that one. And I'm proud on my unreleased track because it's little bit different from what I do usually but it's so powerful and I decided to make an acoustic version of it and it comes out so good that I was blown away .
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm currently working on my own EP and on one Slovak band.(Dec'24)
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I don't really know someone specific but if there is something I can't do I would recommend anyone else or I will just learn how to do it and make it by myself.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I like both. Analog for my is so special so individual because every analog can respond different for same thing, but digital is more comfortable, it's usually cheaper than analog.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I will do my best to make them satisfied with their work.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: It's so creative, it's so about what you feel, it's about you so you can do everything you want.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: If I can make them sound like someone else. I can't. I can use same vocal chain, same technology, same equipment but they will never sound like that one specific one.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I can't make something fantastic if you give me bad recording or bad mixed track. I can do something with it but if it's not properly recorded or mixed then I can't do my best with it.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What they are expecting from that song, what feeling they want feel from it and many more...
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Ask for examples of his/her work and communicate with them. Be open to hire smaller providers because they can be as good as the big ones they just didn't have chance to prove themselves.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Guitar, my MacBook, Scarlett 4th generation, cables, and Shure SM57
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Like I said I'm into music production 6 years now(since 2018) till then I was in some bands and stuff like that. But after some time in bands I wanted to do whole music by myself and that was the ice breaker for me. I started learning about recording, mixing etc..., I was on few sound courses and I'm still learning and trying to improve myself.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: It's very big mix of many different genres. I think it's still quiet original and it's heavy, it's punchy...
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would be happiest if I get chance to work with REDZED. For me he is one of my biggest inspirations.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Put as many time as possible into trying new things you would now usually do. It will open so many new ways for you.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Most I'm working with HipHop/Rap and Metal. And usually I'm blending these two genres together.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I think my strongest skill is making that feeling in songs and mixing is my strong side I would say.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I'm always trying to put some exact feeling into it because in every song I'm always looking for the feeling it gives me and the same thing I'm applying into my song or songs I produce.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It depends on what I'm doing like recording, mixing, mastering or producing something. But I'm always first of all trying to find best sound and make best what I can.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I started with some cheap one like the most basic one input Behringer and some Behringer mic but through the years I upgraded to Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 3rd gen., bunch of different Shure mics, M-Audio studio monitors and now I'm looking for some Focals(Dec '24), I have Audio-Technica condense mic that I'm using like room mic and many more stuff...
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: My biggest inspirations are REDZED, Metallica, Korn, 5FDP, $uicideboy$, Nick Nolan etc..., so I can say that, my repertoire is pretty big and different.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Usually most of my work is mixing/mastering or recording. But I like it the most because that's the time when you are bringing life into that work and the whole process of it is for me the best.
