Interview with Eduardo Z
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: One of the projects I'm most proud of was a collaboration with an emerging artist to create a reggaeton song. My role was to compose both the music and the lyrics, and I was in charge of shaping the concept of the song, which was about long-distance love and nostalgia. What makes me most proud of this project is that the song really connected with the audience, and seeing how people reacted to the lyrics and the melody was very rewarding. It was an incredible experience to work closely with the artist to bring his vision to reality, and he taught me a lot about the collaboration process and how to make a song authentic and personal
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm exploring new melodies and lyrics that connect deeply with the audience, while collaborating with emerging artists to create fresh and authentic themes. I am also perfecting my portfolio to offer even more variety in my services, making sure that each song has its own unique character
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: There is no one I know, I'm here to start my journey in music, generate experience and start doing great things
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both have their place in music, but personally I prefer to work digitally because of the flexibility and the tools it offers to create and modify music quickly and efficiently. Digital workstations (DAWs) allow a wide variety of sounds and effects, giving me the freedom to experiment and create more effectively. That said, I value the analog elements when I look for a warmer texture or a unique sound, so I usually integrate both into my creative process according to the needs of the project
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My promise to my clients is to offer them personalized, unique and high quality compositions that completely align with their vision. I promise to always be professional, punctual and responsive throughout the process, making sure that each song not only meets your expectations, but exceeds them. My goal is to create music that really connects with the audience and makes my clients stand out, regardless of style or project.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: What I like most about my work is the creative process and the possibility of connecting with people through music. Each song is a new opportunity to tell a story, transmit emotions and create something unique. Seeing how an idea becomes a complete song that can touch someone, whether with a sticky melody or deep lyrics, is incredibly rewarding. In addition, I love the collaboration with other artists and clients, since we always learn and grow together in the process
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: 1. What is your composition process? • My process begins with a deep conversation to understand your needs and vision. Then, I move on to the creation of the melody and the lyrics, always maintaining a collaborative approach. After sharing a first demo, we work together on the settings until the song is perfect. 2. What differentiates your music from that of other composers? • I focus on creating songs that are both emotional and commercial, with catchy melodies and deep lyrics. My goal is for each song to connect with the listener. 3. How long does it take to complete a song? • The delivery time varies depending on the complexity of the project, but I can usually deliver a first version of the song in one or two weeks. If there are adjustments, that may take a few additional days. 4. Can I make changes to the song after you send me the first version? • Of course! Collaboration is key. I am willing to work with you on every detail so that the song meets your expectations, and I will be happy to make revisions until you are completely satisfied.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: One of the most common misconceptions is that music composition is a quick and easy process, but in reality, creating a successful song involves much more reflection, experimentation and review. Sometimes, customers think it's just about writing lyrics or creating a melody, but it also involves considering the style, the message and how the music emotionally connects with the audience. It's a collaborative process that requires time and adjustments for the song to be really effective
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: 1. What is the main objective or message that you would like to convey with this song? • This helps me make sure that the lyrics and music align with what you want to communicate. 2. Do you have any musical style or reference in mind? • This allows me to better understand the sound and atmosphere you want to create. 3. Who is your target audience or audience? • Knowing who the song is aimed at allows me to adapt the tone and style to better connect with them. 4. Is there any specific theme or emotion that you would like the song to explore? • This helps me give an emotional direction to the composition. 5. What is your deadline for this project? • Understanding delivery times helps me plan and make sure I meet expectations.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: My advice would be to look for a provider who not only understands your vision, but who can also contribute fresh and creative ideas to take your project to the next level. The key is clear and open communication throughout the process, ensuring that we are both aligned in terms of style, message and final sound.
