Interview with Barcelos 015
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: My first singing project, I'm proud of it because in addition to producing the beat and singing, I did the mixing and mastering part and it was incredible.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: In music projects, I work on creating my first musical EP which I intend to release in 2025.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Yes, me (Barcelos015)
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: It depends on the intention, for something more classic I prefer analogue, for something more current I prefer digital, but I don't have that as a rule, sometimes mixing is also cool.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I promise to dedicate myself 100% to everything related to the project and that I will deliver something good, of quality that he will like.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I'm passionate about music, I love everything it involves, from imagining it to finishing the project and being part of the "materialization" process is rewarding.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Customers: How long does it take to be ready? Me: It all depends, if you want something generic and bad it will be ready quickly, if you want something good and unique, as long as you need,
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: Which is quick and easy.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What are your plans and what are your intentions with the project? What did you envision for the project and what do you want me to do?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Be polite and yourself, trust the process and don't be afraid to debate ideas about the project, don't be afraid to dare and take risks.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Notebook, interface, headphones, mic and first aid kit.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been working since I was 15, I had my own rap group and as we didn't have producers I started to get interested in the area. I've few sounds on YouTube and digital platforms, but I've vast experience on the subject and I am passionate about music.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Striking, unique and authentic.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Pedro Lotto, because he was the one who inspired me to start producing and I think he's very good and I'm a fan of his work
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: In addition to basic things like, breathing in the beat to highlight the artist singing, tuning all the instruments (including the drums), or the velocity of the hi hats to give a human touch, I believe that the innovation in background sounds like precution or fx that create an environment and fill the music as well as making it more interactive.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: The ones that I believe have potential, regardless of the style/genre or the artist.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Development of the drums, I make it engaging and striking.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring exclusivity and identity, something that everyone recognizes that belongs to the artist and me.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually create the beat based on the melody, then I build each drum element and structure it.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: It's a simple studio, a computer with monitor and headphones.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I'm inspired by many artists, singers I like Chris Brown, 21 Savage, Bryson Tyler, Travis Scott. As for producers, I am inspired by Pedro Lotto, Nagali, Dr. Dre, Metro Boomin and others.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
