Working with Nebuphon has been a super positive experience. He has an excellent ear for complex rhythmic patterns, and the ability to surgically take songs apart and breath new life into them. His percussive expertise is paired with great taste in sound design, the color he adds to a song blends in seamlessly with the whole.
Aside from being a great producer he is also very reliable, and can get work done within a specific time frame.
I highly recommend him as a producer/collaborator. - check_circleVerified
Really enjoyed working with Nebuphon. He was really attentive to the details of what I was looking for, was willing to take the time needed to ensure I was satisfied with the finished product and delivered a fantastic mix on point with the reference material vibe I wanted to impart onto the original material.

Without question working with Gaetan in mixing one of my songs was a great experience. He was very supportive in ensuring I gave him what he needed to mix the song properly & also helped me on the technical side in getting him the audio stems as this was a relatively new experience for me. The feedback I asked for was also appreciated. 5 Stars!!
Nebuphon is an expert producer and mixing & mastering engineer. He’s extremely creative, pays incredible attention to detail, and goes above and beyond to ensure his clients are happy. Absolutely reccomend!

Nebuphon's production and compositional skills are second to none and I sincerely believe he is meant for greatness in this Industry. A true professional at heart, he has accomplished a lot in such a short span - I will be following him very closely in the coming years and you should do too. Top Notch engineer and musician.
Nebuphon produced and mixed a track for Starfall, and ended up making a lackluster recording sound fantastic. Great engineer and producer.
Interview with Nebuphon
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I'm happy with the "Summertime" remix by Thia (feat. David Verity) mastered by Dean at studio Dexy. It's a great example of how SoundBetter can bring together artists from all over the world! In this case Toronto, Stockholm, Sweden, and San Francisco. Computers and the internet have opened up our field in profound ways.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you help me in X genre? The answer is yes. I listen to and appreciate all kinds of music, and that varied palette of influence coming together is part of why you will end up with something special. I would like the opportunity to work on every genre some day because there is something to express and learn in each. I don't perceive genre as a concept that divides or alienates. It's an effort to label and organize, but styles of sounds can move fluid in any. It shouldn't be any kind of limitation. Music that stands out bends the confines of it. "Genre is a social construct" as a peer of mine (Vilify) says.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Without always having a lot of time to dedicate to it, I started making Electronic Music 14 years ago.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: It depends on the project and what you want to achieve. 👀
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Have everything ready and organized.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Avoiding what's boring.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Noisia, because they're the best technical sound engineers in the world and have provided so much inspiration to me in the past.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: Skill, care, creativity, clarity, detail and flavourful style.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Projects for talented artists like you, and also a new EP of my own.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: My heart is in this.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Putting our visions together to end up somewhere neither of us would have on our own.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That it's an easy craft, as if computers can automatically do it.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What is the genre? What is the tempo? What is the key? Can I hear some of your other music? Can I hear some songs that you'd like it to sound similar to? Are the files ready for me? When is the deadline?
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My computer (that's a given), speakers, headphones, a keyboard, a mic.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Electronic Music (EDM), hip-hop, I would love to work on some post-hardcore punk.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: It's a home studio, with acoustic treatment, decent monitors, and headphones. My happy place.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Both, I love the reality and character of an anolog piece of gear but can't imagine doing this without VST.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: Mike Lizola Rocha, he's a great engineer and introduced me to SoundBetter!
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Low-end oriented, rhythmic, dark, melancholic, sci-fi, vintage, and broken-beat.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Use both speakers and headphones, always be learning.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Noisia, Break, The Prodigy, Alix Perez, Icicle, Rockwell, Mefjus, Source Direct, Spectrasoul, Alexisonfire, Underoath, Glassjaw, Of Mice & Men, Black Flag, Minor Threat, Lorde, Clairo, Laurel, City & Colour, Bukk, Dave Dialect, Vilify, and flowanastasia.
