Interview with Stefan Falkok
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I won't say anything about this, since I haven't worked on my personal projects yet)
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I will work on improving my sound and communication with clients. Maybe I will work on releases, but it is not certain.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: It's hard to say at the moment, since I haven't met any of my colleagues at Soundbetter, but I've often heard that people recommend working at this site
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I like both
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: Cool quality track and cool mood)
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: when you get paid for the work you do and you perceive it as a reward
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Sometimes clients themselves don't know what they want, so I don't even know how to answer
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: there is no need to spread yourself across all genres. It is better to work in those genres where you are more comfortable and feel better than anyone else. It is not necessary to chase the trend, although I did not ignore it
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: I usually ask questions like "how is your progress with the track going?"
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: The client should clearly describe their ideas and concepts for the track and send a reference
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: macbook, sound card, headphones, family and good mood
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: My career path at the moment is limited to platforms for ghost production. I've been doing this for about 5 years
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I'm not fixated on one style, I can write either Millennium style or Weekend style conditionally
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I really want to work with Skrillex and Calvin Harris, because I'm sure they know how to create hits, especially since they have much more experience)
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Don't try to write a perfect track. Try to write a good track, for ordinary people who will like it
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: I work mainly on those genres where I feel best
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I am best at writing Drum And Bass, Pop/Future Pop, Bass House, Future Bass and Melodic Dubstep
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I don't even know, but I want the track to sound great, like it's alive, energetic
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: I usually start with a drop, basically I write the drum part first, then I look for suitable vocals for the track and then I write the melody
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have the most basic home studio Presonus Studio 26 Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO Rode NT1, which is not used at all
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
