I began my work as a studio singer within a year of arriving in Los Angeles at 18. 20 years later, I have my own home studio with the ability to remotely record high end backing vocals for all types of musical projects.
With a specialty in vocal style, Melissa loves working with artists to break down the story and tone of each specific track in order to curate thoughtful and dynamic backing vocals to support it.
Melissa works on an hourly rate for individual tracks. Full EP's and albums can be negotiated and discussed based on budget and demand.

Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: The "Prayers for the Damned" and "Prayers for the Blessed" sister albums I did vocals on with Sixx:AM. A special time in my life touring the world with them!
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I will make sure they're happy with the vocal parts!
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: SINGING!
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: 1. Are you working on a deadline? How fast do you need your vocals turned around? 2. Do you know exactly what you want, or are you looking for some creative input/vocal arranging?
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: I work quickly! With 20 years of experience singing in studios under my belt and a specialty in vocal health and care (my vocal coach side,) I have a healthy, capable voice, and I know how to execute vocals without waiting time.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring a vocal intuitiveness. I like to play different "characters" with my voice to add different qualities, especially to layers and layers of vocals. I sing a variety of styles so I can fill a lot of different demands.

Each song is different! If vocal arranging is involved, or lots of parts are involved, it will take a bit longer! I work hourly for individual tracks, EP's and albums can be discussed based on demand!
