Interview with Tilen Sapac
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: Too many to tell but every project that i have been involved in I am proud on. I always give my best and try to be unique as possible. So when i look back i am at peace.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: Several projects. But most important is debut album for Julie Fajhtinger.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. Analog is great but it takes a bigger place to rent and it coasts too much. Also you have lots of plugins that emulate analog stuff pretty damn good.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I always do everything just as if i would have done it for my self.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: It's not a job. It's me playing.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Reference Songs?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: It is always worth to take your time and search deeper for unique musicians. They are all over the place but hard to find. Not everything that shines is gold.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Shovel, Seeds, Guitar, Sunglasses and my gf. :)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I have been involved with music all my life but It's been over 10+ years now that i have been in music professionally.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: Write a good song in the first place! Do not settle with "We'll fix it later"! Good songs don't need a lot of production!
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Pop/Rock, Metal, Indie Pop, Synth-wave, Blues.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I work in the box. I use Focusrite Clarett 8 and Octo 8 preamps. DPA, Shure, Audix, Rode mics. I use Cubase 12 for mixing and mastering. Plugins: Slate, Plugin Alliance, Softube, Waves, Kilohearts,... I work in acoustically treated studio with professional studio monitors.
