Cobi Harbach on SoundBetter

Enthusiastic and Creative, Mindfulness practicing Buddhist

As a seasoned studio owner with over seven years of experience, I've dedicated my career to creating and recording music. My earliest musical memories are intertwined with the rich tones of a century-old Schiedmayer grand piano, played under my mother's caring eyes.

My proficiency extends beyond the piano, including guitar, percussion, production, and audio engineering. This multifaceted expertise allows me to approach each project with a holistic perspective, ensuring that every element harmonizes seamlessly.

My Berlin based studio is great for musicians and creatives seeking comfortable and qualitative recording and mixing services. I've carefully curated a hybrid workflow that combines the warmth of analog outboard gear with the precision of digital processing. The Universal Audio ecosystem, with its renowned vintage plugin emulations, is a cornerstone of my studio.

By leveraging Neve Summing and ATR Master Tape on individual buses within the UAD environment, I've developed a distinctive sound pallette that sets my productions apart. This unique approach, still relatively uncommon in the industry, enables me to deliver truly exceptional results.

I'd love to hear about your project. Click the 'Contact' button above to get in touch.

If you’re looking for an audio engineer who blends passion, precision, and a touch of magic, Cobi is the one! With a setup that feels like it was assembled by a team of audiophile wizards, he brings out the best in every track, from the subtlest details to the big, booming drops. He's got a genuine love for the craft and that rare mix of technical prowess, deep listening for feedback and artistic care, turning sessions into experiences. Plus, he’s just fun to be around and makes pretty much the best damn coffee in the world.

Constantine has a bit of a coach’s work ethic. His approach is professional but also supportive to help you get the most value out of your time with him. He seems to also employ many innovative mix technics that result in modern sounding mixes that are larger than life.

His ability to coach me through my insecurities and help me feel confident to explore new ideas was invaluable. Working with Cobi has been an inspiring experience, and I’m excited to continue collaborating with him in the future. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a producer who truly invests in both the music and the artist

Interview with Cobi Harbach

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: I love the Jazz Album I am currently working on. I used to go to this club in Berlin every wednesday to hear these incredible musicians play the coolest music I had ever heard in my life. The atmosphere in the middle of one of the craziest neighbourhoods in Berlin is just insane. It is a dark smokey place which is bathed red lights. An original druggy jazz club with the session starting at 11pm going on until 6 am in the morning. The kinds you would like to think Charlie Parker was playing in. One night I told them that I could record them so i ordered a Tascam 24 Mixer and a bunch Microphones to capture them in a decent sound quality. I arrived there one week later ready to go. We had about 30min before the show to setup everything in time as no one else was there until then. It seemed tight but we managed just fine. I went there 10 more times to record the entire evenings until 6am in the morning. The result is endless hours of music with an incredible and unique sound. People from all over the world play there with 10 people actively playing at the same time. I am talking, Bulgarian Guitarist, Brazillian Percussionists, Italian Singers, German Drummers, Bass players from Mozambique, it was just an insane time. The idea was crazy to begin with and I love what came from it. In this project I was the FOH, Host, Recording Engineer, Mixing and Mastering Engineer.
