"Her music sounds like something from a David Lynch film". I have Toured with the band alt-J as their support band, including the Royal Albert Hall in London. This year, I was played by Guy Garvey on Radio 6, sang on Johnny Flynn's new album and I'm touring with the band and tiktok sensation, BOA, as a session player in the USA.
I'm a multi-instrumentalist and singer-song writer based in London. My artist alias is AK Patterson. I make music that tell the stories of the prisoners, organised crime, heartbreak and hope wrapped in modern chamber pop and 90’s Lilith Nostalgia. My past two releases have been produced by Mercury Prize winning producer, Charlie Andrew who also produces alt-J, Madness and the new David Gilmour album.
As a session musician my specialty is in folk fiddle primarily within the Irish tradition but I can also span across, Scottish, English, and American/ old timey styles of playing. I have arranged strings for films in the past, including a feature film 'Adira's Dream' that was nominated for best sound design at Idyllwild Film Festival in the USA.
I'm a highly versatile singer. I have worked on genres spanning from folk to prog rock. Most notably my collaboration with math rock drummer 'Colossal Squid' (drummer for Squarepusher, Jarvis Cocker and Goldie). I wrote and recorded the top line for his song 'Kick Punch' which was featured in the Netflix film 'The Courier'. This year I was asked to sing on the actor/ musician, Johnny Flynn's new album, who appeared on the Netflix series of Ripley. He also featured me in his cultural highlights of 2023 in a Guardian interview. I play acoustic and electric guitar, which are my primary instruments for song writing.
