Harpist, String/Vocal Arranger

Lever harpist, composer and string/vocal arranger based in Scotland. Trained at Berklee College of Music, Rachel plays and composes in styles ranging from folk and jazz to contemporary and classical.

As a session harpist, I have collaborated with artists in a variety of projects and music genres, from global folk to film scores, Latin jazz to electronic music. I can read from a notated score or lead sheet, or play from an audio reference. Alternatively, I can compose, improvise or arrange the harp part for your track.

As a string and vocal arranger, I have experience writing for various string ensembles, SATB choir and a capella groups, and for a range of skills levels. Whether you're looking for a string quartet arrangement of a song cover, strings parts or backing vocals for your track, or an arrangement for your vocal group, I love collaborating with artists to help bring their ideas to life! I will send you the sheet music and midi demos of the score and parts, with optional piano accompaniment.

Qualifications/awards include:
- M. Mus. Contemporary Performance (Production Concentration) from Berklee College of Music (Valencia Campus), awarded with Distinction
- M.A. Music from University of Edinburgh, First Class
- Winner of the Emre Araci String Composition Competition
- Winner of the Iain Macleòid Young Composer Award
- Winner of the Times Carol Composition Competition
