Let's get your mix radio ready. Industry standard software plus five years of experience in mixing and producing. Educated musician as a drummer. Free preview mix.
Hi! I'm a 21 year old freelance mixing engineer. I previously studied as a musician in Stockholm, Sweden where I played drums but eventually I got into producing and mixing. I have been mixing and producing for about five years and studied for a year at a Studio and Live production program in Bjärnum, Sweden where I have been recording and mixing in a professional studio. I leverage this experience in my work and guarantee you will get what you pay for. I use both Pro Tools and Ableton Live with an array of industry standard plugins/gear. I charge 100$ on a per song basis and if you want a group of songs mixed we can discuss a price. I am also willing to offer a preview mix for free, you can choose a 30 second part of your song; typically a chorus, and I will show you roughly how the mix will sound. If you want additional instrument tracking (drums, bass, acoustic guitar, electric guitar) we can discuss that too. I look forward to working with you!

Interview with Joar Söderberg
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: I love the analog sound but I don't love the price! If I could I would always mix on hardware but I think digital is at a point where the difference is very slim and you're able to make it up in different ways.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That I will do everything in my power to make your mix sound great, I may not have been in the industry as long as some others but I understand wanting your music to sound as good as it can.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Can you make "x" louder? Answer: Yes
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Usually what they want their mix to sound like, I'll ask for some kind of reference track.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Ask lots of questions about the process and tell me about how you want the mix to sound. Communication is key.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Macbook, Sennheiser HD650s, UAD Apollo Twin, Arturia KeyLab Essential 49 MK3 and an SM57
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I was originally studying as a musician; specifically as a drummer and stumbled into production when I wanted to record my band. After I started producing I found myself recording and mixing a lot of my friends who I studied with. From there I've moved and started studying Studio and Live production at a school in southern Sweden. All in all I've been producing/mixing for about five years.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I'm very interested in perserving organic elements of recordings while still giving them a modern flare, I'm not too into a lot of modern mixing(loudness war) but think that when modern elements are combined with tride and true methods you get really impactful music.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: I would love to work with Charli XCX. I think she's a great songwriter and makes bangers and I would really love to contribute to something of that caliber.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: The music I've worked most with is my own and friends music. I've produced/mixed a lot of rock, electronic and hip-hop music.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: At home I work mostly digitally and mix on headphones. I use Pro Tools and Ableton. I have an electric bass, guitar, some mics. Everything you need really. As I'm studying at a Studio and Live production program I also have access to a professional studio where I can really hone in on my mixes.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: AG Cook inspires me a lot, very creative in his choice of sounds and really out of the box producer/mixer. I also love J Dilla for his amazing sampling but also because I'm a drummer :)
