Endorse Allida Casper (Ghostcello)I have worked with Allida many times and we have even had albums accepted into libraries together. Her strength besides obviously cello, is in bringing depth and passion to her parts. She is a master of articulations and unique ideas with the cello. You need to hire her for cello for your project!

Interview with Allida Casper (Ghostcello)
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: I played at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C. last year with my pianist for a private party. The acoustics where out of this world and it was an amazing opportunity.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: I'm working on a Classical cello album and a Wedding Album to pitch to Music Sync Libraries.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: no
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital. Its what I know.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I will communicate with you and ask questions.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love being able to work from home and the flexibility it offers. I love meeting new people and hearing new music.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: Do you play the guitar. Not well :)
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: That I only play and like Classical music.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Do you have a chord chart or music you want me to play off of.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: You will find someone who can create you a musical and meaningful track that you will not have to do a lot of post editing to.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Cello, laptop, headphones, mic, interface
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been a cellist all my life. I've played in Orchestras, chamber groups, and wedding duos. I taught all the String instruments in Public Schools. I now have a home recording studio where I'm obsessed with recording and learning all I can about the process.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I'm a Classically trained cellist that can read any note but I bring something different to the table because I can also read off of chord charts and compose my own lines.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: For a classical musician I would love to work with Yo Yo Ma. He seems so down to earth (i've played with him once). For pop musicians I'd like to work with Coldplay, Ed Sherran, or Lindsey Stirling. I'd love to add cello parts to their songs
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: I have a favorite reverb that makes the cello sound magical :)
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Currently, I'm recording a lot of cello covers. Pop songs that are reimagined and created in an all instrumental version with multitracking cellos. I also work on Classical music that I'm rearranging for all cello.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: My musical expression and tone in playing. I'm also very reliable and will communicate to you.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I bring the emotion that only cellos (real cellos) can bring to a song. I'll play every line with musicality and feeling..
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: You send in a WAV track and I'll import it into Logic. I work off of musical notation or chord charts. I'll record my part and send you all the track files if you have a dropbox link.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: Cello circa 1920's, Logic Pro, Neumann TLM 103, Scarlet Focusrite
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Yo-Yo Ma, Brooklyn Duo, Seids, Ed Sheeran, Charlie Puth, Antonoff
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: Creating cello parts that enhance their tracks. I can play from sheet music if you have a specific line in mind or I can create my own part(s) using a chart chart.
