Cathy Tsang is studying for her Advanced Orchestral Performance diploma, while she has just graduated with her Master in Orchestral Performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, both of which with scholarships. She is studying flute, piccolo and baroque flute with Matthew Featherstone, Jonathan Burgess, John Hall, Sarah Newbold, Lindsey Ellis, and Katy Bircher. She attained her Bachelor of Arts in Music at The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2020, under the tutelage of Ms. Chuang Suet Wah Ivy and Mr. Brian Chan.
As an active participant in chamber and orchestral performances, she is recently working with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Welsh National Opera, Orchestra de Cymru, Ponte London Orchestra and Pro Arte Orchestra of Hong Kong.
Cathy has been awarded prizes in various music competitions. She won the 1st prize of the Golden Classical Music Awards and performed at the Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall in New York. She has given solo and chamber performances in Hong Kong, Macau, U.K., U.S., Vienna and Portugal. In recognition of her musical achievements, Cathy is a RWCMD scholar, supported by the Help Musicians UK, Craxton Memorial Trust, and Talent Development Scholarship.
