Artist first audio engineering. It's not my place to groom musicians into my idea my of success or how they should sound. I'm eager to work with artists who are willing to take risks and challenge the listener.
My name's Bill Stack. I offer recording services for Musicians in the Indy area, and mixing, reamping, and mastering for artists world wide. Have been making records for the better part of ten years. Mainly gravitate around punk, but happy to help anyone looking to make an honest record.

Interview with Green House Recordings
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: Finding a zen between preparation and letting the session happen.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: First thing, start a conversation with the artist. Find out what they think drives the narrative of the song and then do my best to highlight it.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: What records are in line with what you're trying to do? What are your goals with the next release?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Before the recording session, rehearse. When you get to the session, relax. The only thing to it is to do it.
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: Getting an 8 channel interface was like being the first of your friends to get a car. I found myself getting requests from my friends' bands to cut their demos, and it turned out that I loved doing it.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: Punk, and all of it's derivatives.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Being able to hear what your compressors are doing and locating resonances by ear are necessary parts of the job, but they take a backseat to being able to read the emotional intent of the song. The way you understand what your partner means when they say "whatever you want to eat" is the level of intimacy I'm committed to reaching on every project I work on.
