Jay is a true professional who is extremely knowledgeable, talented with his productions, and understanding with his clients. He takes the time to hear what you need and then work with you to make it happen. I cannot say enough great things about his work and help he's provided on my projects. Love working with him and look forward to the next one. Thank you Jay!
Been getting mentoring from Jordan for years. A great producer to learn from and a great person to get to know. Cant recommend him enough.
JD is the man. I started taking music more seriously back in 2022 and Jay has been an absolute cornerstone in my success and journey with music production. He's never one to sugar coat anything nor someone who simply tells you what you want to hear. He tells you exactly what he thinks (with a trained mind and ear) but more importantly he gives helpful insight and suggestions on how to make your music better which is impeccable. I will recommend JD to anybody pursuing a musical career, especially in the world of dance music. His one-on-one sessions are game changing.
I had a 1-on-1 with Jay Dunham back in January. He shared a lot of valuable insight around releasing music and marketing on social media. I 100% plan to meet with him the next time I'm at a crossroads in my music artist journey :)
Jay is a really nice guy and a great teacher too. I've had a bunch of private lessons with him and I was always happy with the way they went. I do recommend getting lessons with Jay if you want to up your production, mixing, and or mastering skills. Thanks for all the help man!
Jay has always delivered when it comes to mixing and mastering! Even on tight deadlines he’s able to make it happen, and it’s easy to trust his ear to make the right decisions. Hit him up!
Jay Dunham has been one of the main reasons I've been able to accel so quickly with my production skills. He's the first person who taught me how to master my own tracks and has always helped make my productions superb. I owe a lot of the success I've had so far to Jay and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to further improve their productions and/or skills.
Very talented at mixing and also composition. Gives great honest constructive feedback too. Not often you find this combo along with humility either. My go-to for mixing help.
Had an amazing experience with Jay every time we worked together. His skills are top level and he has deep understanding of the music industry from every angle possible. You can clearly feel he has been in this industry for a very long time by the way he works, explains and delivers his knowledge, skills and services. Also very kind, humble and fun person to work with.
Jay is a great producer with a lot of experience. I have already used his services and will use them in the future again. I can recommend Jay to any other producers and artists.
I had the pleasure of working with Jay on some songs a while ago. I couldn’t get over how precise he was with sound selection in terms of arrangement and how fast his workflow was. Above and beyond his impeccable music, production and sound engineering skills, he is also very easy to work with and really takes the time to listen to what you’re looking for creatively.
Jay knows what he is talking about!
He has a true understanding of his craft and the humility to share thoughts to always push every project to its highest level!

Interview with Jay Dunham
Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?
A: An official remix for Diplo, I'm proud of it because Diplo has always been one of my heroes and remixing him was a dream come true. Other than that, I worked on a 12-song album for Team BDS, the #1 gaming team in Europe on Rocket League and more.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A 7-song EP, productions for clients, and a sample clearance workshop.
Q: Is there anyone on SoundBetter you know and would recommend to your clients?
A: I don't know anyone on SoundBetter unfortunately.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital, conveniency. :)
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: That they'll understand what they *truly* want, sometimes they might think they just want their song mastered, but very quick arrangement fixes will turn the song into a hit/banger.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: Giving artists the feeling of having a professionally sounding song, ready to pitch to industry professionals or other artists.
Q: What questions do customers most commonly ask you? What's your answer?
A: "Do you think I can sign this one easily?" Impossible to answer "Is this ready to get mastered?" Oftentimes, unfortunately, it needs more than a regular stereo mastering as there are obvious flaws in the mixdown or sound selection.
Q: What's the biggest misconception about what you do?
A: I can save a song that has bad sound selection. In order of importance : Songwriting, sound selection, arrangement, mixdown, mastering.
Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?
A: Can I hear the song first? What are you trying to achieve with this particular project? Label signature, self-release, dj support, ..?
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Make sure you've referenced your song with commercially successful ones out there, some mistakes can easily be fixed when comparing with high quality tracks, especially mistakes related to level balances and over-enhanced frequency areas.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: My Macbook, my audio interface, my Audeze MM-500 headphones, my midi keyboard, my hard drive :)
Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: More than 10 years, started recording rappers, mixing and mastering their EP's and albums, then made beats, went into electronic music with D'n'B and Dubstep, transitioned to House in 2016 inspired by Tchami & Malaa, been going at it ever since while providing 1-on-1 mentorship, mixing and mastering services.
Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?
A: Gesaffelstein, because his sound design is intricately amazing.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: ALWAYS a/b your processing to make sure you're *actually* improving the sound, a/b in solo as well as in context with your mix.
Q: What type of music do you usually work on?
A: House, Tech House, Disco, EDM, Bass House, Latin House & Techno.
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Mixing.
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: My 10+ years of expertise & dedication to production, mixing and mastering and my highly trained ears.
Q: What's your typical work process?
A: - Analyze song - Assess needs - Offer guidance on which offer suits best (mixing, stem mastering, stereo mastering, ...) - Start project & work in conjunction with client to satisfy needs.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: - Macbook Pro M1, 32gb RAM, 1tb SSD - Audeze MM-500 - Audio Technica ATH M50X - RME Babyface - Plugins : UAD, Soundtoys, Fabfilter, Sonnox, ...
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: Diplo, Tchami, Malaa, Skrillex, Gesaffelstein, ...
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
