I write, perform, mix and master all my tracks under the name Colorbars. My album "Still Vibrations" can be found on all platforms. Outside of music, I am also an Emmy-award winning filmmaker and editor.
I'm a musician who mixes and masters his own tracks. At work in Universal Audio's Luna and love the way it colors sound. I love working in all forms of rock, whether it leans towards guitar, piano, or synth. I lean towards a more vintage and saturated kind of tone. To give you an idea of what kind of music I'm drawn to, my favorite artists are: Radiohead, Depeche Mode, Mk.gee, Michael Kiwanuka, Interpol, The Cure, Elliott Smith, Yes, The Police, ELO, and The Beach Boys. I am new to working with other artists on their music, but I've been working on my own music for 30 years and am an Emmy-award winning video editor.
Would love to hear from you. Click the contact button above to get in touch.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?
A: I've been recording music since I was 13. But after college I got a job in video production and have done that as my main career. I've won a number of Emmy awards but over the last 5 years, I've been turning my focus back to music. After recording my own album this past year, I remembered how much I love working with music.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: I definitely have a bit of a throw-back style. I've always been into vintage things like records and Super 8mm cameras. I think that comes through in how I create things, but I always have a very modern studio set-up.
Q: Can you share one music production tip?
A: If something sounds good, don't worry about what mic you used or what your room is like.
Q: What are you working on at the moment?
A: A new album.
Q: Analog or digital and why?
A: Digital that sounds analog-ish.
Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?
A: I'll be passionate about your art. I will never take for granted how much time and thought you've put into your music.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I like creating something from nothing. There's no greater joy than starting with a blank page or a blank screen and turning it into something awesome.
Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A: Pick someone who has played a significant role in songs that sound good to you.
Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?
A: Casino Guitar, Fender P Bass, Sequential Circuits Prophet, Neuman U 47, UA Apollo,
Q: What's your strongest skill?
A: Creativity
Q: What do you bring to a song?
A: I can balance experimenting with unique sounds while still maintaining pop sensibilities so the music is still accessible to all. I also tend to add a vintage sound to things that I work on.
Q: Tell us about your studio setup.
A: I have an assortment of Universal Audio interfaces, satellites, and plug-ins. I work mostly in the box. I have Adam Audio monitors. I have a large collections of guitars and synths.
Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?
A: I've always been inspired by Thom Yorke. Radiohead's longtime engineer Nigel Godrich has always been someone I've studied. Mk.gee is a current musician and engineer that I like a lot.
Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.
A: I'm new to working with clients, but I've been making my own music for 30 years. I can mix, master, tune, or perform with you on your tracks.
