One who builds an aeroplane should be able to fly -
and whoever achieves to be in control of this fine handcraft to combine the thin threads of musical contributions to an artful masterpiece, should - obviously - do music, live music and love music for himself.
Following these principles I do not only play and create music by myself for more than 15 years now (bass guitar, piano, guitar, arranging), but I am also mixing and producing live as well as in the studio (and often somewhere in between) for several bands (predominantly in the rock, pop and jazz sector), Jazz/Swing BigBands, Singer/Songwriters, Solo Artists (often HipHop/Rap), etc. I would see myself as a very ambitious semi-professional and autodidact.
My own musical taste is as well extremely diverse, but with a tendency towards complex and rather "sophisticated" styles, comprising Progressive Rock and Metal (e.g., Steven Wilson/Porcupine Tree, Tool, Pink Floyd, Riverside, Opeth etc.), Jazz and Swing, Brass, but also Electronic Music and many more.
