Great person to work with - very professional and was able to complete a very difficult song in less than a week. Small problem with the files but he quickly fixed it and re-uploaded in less than 24h. Would def work with him again!

I've worked with Dustin on a bunch of tracks, with him acting as co-producer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter, and will always be looking to work with him again.

Interview with Rex Brewer

  1. Q: Tell us about a project you worked on you are especially proud of and why. What was your role?

  2. A: An acoustic live EP set to release this coming January. It was my first time working on "live" work and it turned out really well. The client loved it. And to be honest if you heard the "rough mix" in comparison you would believe anything's possible.

  3. Q: What's your 'promise' to your clients?

  4. A: If you don't like the mix at the end of it all, it won't hurt my feelings. We just say "shake hands" and part ways.

  5. Q: What do you like most about your job?

  6. A: The ability to discover someone's amazing song while working on it.

  7. Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

  8. A: Just contact me, I am a really easy guy to chat with.

  9. Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

  10. A: I started in music when I was about 13 in middle school band. After I moved to Nashville, I started working a lot playing bass for artists. Found a passion for mixing the past three years.

  11. Q: How would you describe your style?

  12. A: Dynamic!

  13. Q: Can you share one music production tip?

  14. A: Mix tracks in solo as least as possible

  15. Q: What's your strongest skill?

  16. A: My ear.. And I suppose my quick Melodyne abilities

  17. Q: What do you bring to a song?

  18. A: Excitement and dynamics!

  19. Q: What's your typical work process?

  20. A: Usually editing and organizing a track before officially mixing, tuning and editing vocals if needed. After that condense all tracks to a manageable sight field and get too mixing. I tend to get pretty creative with my mixes, I prefer excitement over technical quality of a mix. Once I reach the point where I am ready to send to the client, I will slap a limiter on for master referencing and forward the tune. Make mix tweaks as they are handed to me.

  21. Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

  22. A: Event 20/20 Monitors, Persons Temblor T10 Subwoofer, Apollo Twin, MacBook Pro, Logic Pro X

  23. Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

  24. A: Chris Lord-Alge, Tom Lord-Alge, Tony Maserati, Manny Maroquin, Serban Ghenea

  25. Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

  26. A: Mixing, Mastering, Vocal Editing (Tuning etc), Full productions
