Q: What questions do you ask prospective clients?

A: Do you have an instrumental demo? Are there reference tracks? What feeling do you want from the track?

Q: What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?

A: I love helping you bring your vision to life. I mainly focus on Deep House and it's always easier if you have a small instrumental demo ready and I can do my thing on it. I want you to be satsified with the end result and I won't stop until that's done.

Q: If you were on a desert island and could take just 5 pieces of gear, what would they be?

A: My Interface, Microphone, Laptop, Guitar, and a big generator.

Q: What was your career path? How long have you been doing this?

A: I have been in this industry since 2014. I have toured through Germany with an artist called Udo Lindenberg and then also trained my singing professionally. I started writing songs for other people, and I'm currently working on deep house music.

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I would define my style as groovy, emotional, and deep

Q: Which artist would you like to work with and why?

A: I'm a big TheWeeknd fan, the way he is present on the songs is just so inspiring to me. Besides that, I love Joja Smith and Justin Timberlake. Both such versatile singers and make me really feel the music under my skin.

Q: Can you share one music production tip?

A: Know when to stack your vocals and when not to. Don't be afraid to have a single vocal do it's thing for the most part of the track.

Q: What type of music do you usually work on?

A: Deep House,Tech House, RnB, Pop, Jazz Pop, Neo-Soul

Q: What's your strongest skill?

A: Singing and writing melodies and deep lyrics.

Q: What do you bring to a song?

A: I am an emotional singer; therefore, I would say that I bring feeling to a song. A prime example of an emotional deep house track is my song called Drowning. I make sure there is an elevation of emotions from the vocals in combination with the elements of the production.

Q: What's your typical work process?

A: I love going for melodies first, no matter what genre or style of track. Often my clients already have a base idea or demo track and send me references of what they want, but even if not, I love doing my own thing to the instrumental idea. I like stacking my vocals and writing lyrics with a deeper meaning and making sure the harmonies are on point, as it creates such important emotions.

Q: Tell us about your studio setup.

A: My studio set-up consists of a Neumann TLM 103, SHURE-Smb7. For mixing and mastering, I used Yamaha HS8's and the DT 990 Pro 80. I work with Logic Pro X, as I love their vocal recording system and mainly use wave plugins for my vocal mix. I have a professional acoustic set-up room, so my low baritone vocals have no interferences, especially with the great quality of the TLM 103.

Q: What other musicians or music production professionals inspire you?

A: Barry White, George Michael, The Weeknd, Quincy Jones...Just to name a few, their creative process inspires and drives me to reach for greater highs in life.

Q: Describe the most common type of work you do for your clients.

A: Vocal recording is my main work, I am a trained singer and also mix vocals for clients mine or others. Jan Liva is my Deep House artist project. Since 2019, I have done over 300 recordings and my own streams with some clients had roughly 3 million streams on Spotify in 2022.
